... "It's my belief that this is exactly the time when the American people need to hear from the person who in approximately 40 days will be responsible for dealing with this mess. It's going to be part of the president's job to deal with more than one thing at a time." - Obama

Presidents need to know how to multi-task?

No, Obama needs to learn how to prioritize things.

This isn't like 2 major things are going on at once (finacial mess + something else major). One debate is not a major issue that cannot be put off. It can be suspended for a short time. That's all McCain wants.

It's just a debate. But Obama lives to debate/give speeches. It makes him feel important.

Obama wants to debate soooo badly? This is soooo important that it can't be put off?

Obama had 10 townhall meetings that he said no to, so no one is buying his BS.

Obama is used to doing things like this - saying no now to going to DC to do real reform and real work. He's used to doing things like voting "present."

Obama has a chance to actually work and do something about the financial mess, and he wants to debate instead.

Just another "present" vote on Obama's part...

Some situations call for multitasking.

Obama, this isn't one of those times.

Obama, you're no prioritizer.

Obama has a problem here and his friends a MSNBC can’t help him. McCain just dropped a grenade down Obama’s pants and he still doesn’t know what to do. Now he ends up looking like a follower.

Aren’t these the same nutjobs who criticized Bush for not carrying his tuchus down to NO right after Katrina? Didn’t they think he could multitask?

We already know Obama actually thinks his presidential campaign is his most valuable experience. How could he stop that for 48 hours to attend a mere national crisis?

Oh BTW didn’t Bush and McCain just make Harry Reid out to be a total jackass?

Exactly.

Obama should work at the UN where they talk and talk and do nothing. He'd fit in really well.

OI started the same thread, but mistakenly put it into General Chat

My Point:

As you probably have heard the Punk in response to McCain requesting a delay in the debates said something to this effect: As President you need to be able to perform more than on task at a time, we both have big planes to get us to Mississippi.

How nice would it be if someone in the McCain camp responded to Obongo that the day he has launched off a Aircraft carrier or dodged SAMS, he might then be able to make that comment. This punk makes me sick.

Hugh(e) Hewitt mentioned that the faint outrage about missing the debate has more to go with Obamma wanting to get the Foreign Affairs debate done on a Friday night. Point being a lot of people are out at Happy Hour, Dinner, Movies or HS Football games. A lot less people to see McClain clean his clock on this subject

Great observation.

The debate is everything to Obama - he never really was a Senator in the practical sense of the word.

Based on his performance in the Senate, Obama can't even single task.

I have actually heard Dims/libtards say that Obama’s campaigning has given him the experience to lead this country.

That along with being a “Community Organizer,” even though he brought no jobs into South Chicago as a community organizer, and actually left the place in a worse mess than when he arrived as a community organizer and left as an Ill. senator.

Debate? or save the nation? Oh my, what to do. If I debate, they can worship me and take my picture, and i can tell everyone how perfect I am. But if I save the nation with everybody elee, well, my picture won’t get taken, and can’t see tapes of myself and worship myself, and well, nobody will remember that I was part of the team that saved the US.

McCain AND Obama are still, first, Senators. Senators tasked with a crisis to work through.

McCain has once again proven “Country First” “Me” second and is doing the job he was elected to do.

Obama once again “not present”

Yes Obama, Presidents should do and can multitask but in a crisis their attention is focused 100% on getting through it.

Would you have suggested that GWB remained in the Florida elementary classroom the morning of 9/11 and delegated responsibilities from there. NO! He returned to Washignton to do his job.

Obama still wants to think he’s playing the job of President. I suggest that McCain play along and do what Presidents do when they’re tied up with more important things. Send in his VP. McCain, send in your VP to debate Odumbo.

Obama's made another obvious gaffe. The President-elect in November has zero authority until he has been sworn in, in January. He can, of course, speak and suggest. But he cannot DO anything.

I'm not surprised that Obama made this mistake. I am surprised that no one in the press has gotten it yet.

Fauxbama just, without any doubt, just lost the election, and he’s such a rediculous empty suit he doesn’t even know it.

He’s just gone from possibly having a close loss, to being completely blown out.

"...the American people need to hear from the person who in approximately 40 days will be responsible for dealing with this mess."

What the American people need is a president to be elected who actually knows when his responsibilities begin...and it is not 40 days from today. Perhaps that president will also know how to best serve the American people and their needs.

Like you have to be able to register Clark Kent and Peter Parker, while simultaniously paying your ACORN registrars in crack, also while fleecing GSE mortgage entities!

And don't forget having to stop by the drug store to get ear plugs for those GD, Kill America, Kill Whitey, sermons!

It's very easy to multitask.

1. Mail in an "Absent" vote and have zero input in one of the most momentous economic decisions since the Great Depression.

2. Show up at the debate at the scheduled time.

3. Point out to the Moderator that you showed up on time and Johnny didn't.

Yes. It occurred to me that, if Obambi insisted on the debate this Friday, Sarah Palin should debate him. It would diminish his stature and she would probably kick his.....rear. He's nowhere near the fear factor of a moose.
