Two Days Left to Demand a 5 Year E-Verify Reauthorization
E-Verify is in true jeopardy right now and unless your Senators act now we are in jeopardy of losing the basic tool that helps companies determine worker's eligibility and weed out illegal aliens!
Our sources on Capitol Hill tell us that instead of responsibly reauthorizing E-Verify for the necessary full five-year term, Senators are going to pander to special interests and the Senate will only extend E-Verify for six months in a continuing resolution (CR). A CR is a stop-gap spending measure meant to keep the government from shutting down after Congress adjourns since Congress failed to pass any spending bills this session.
We understand that this agreement was meant to appease cheap labor business interests who want to kill E-Verify especially in the states that have made it mandatory for their employers. But, because they know that the American people would not stand for Congress to kill E-Verify right before an election, they have decided to punt this political football through the next election and into the next Congress where they feel they will be in a much better position to kill it or use it as a bargaining chip in a large amnesty measure.
It is outrageous that in this turbulent economy, the Senate would bow to the cheap foreign interests and eliminate one of our most effective, efficient and accurate work-site enforcement tools designed to keep illegal aliens from displacing American workers.
Please understand that when you call, Senate offices will try to tell you that E-Verify will be on the floor this week. But what they are really talking about is their attempt to shove E-Verify into the CR with a six month only extension. We need to let them know that this is unacceptable and that E-Verify must be brought to the floor as a stand-alone bill and reauthorized for a full five year term.
Action Items:
Call your individual Senators (202-224-3121) and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid's office today (202-224-3542) and tell them to bring H.R. 6633, the House bill that authorizes E-Verify for five years, to the Senate floor.

It’s freakin Sen. Menendez in NJ who is the chief block. I’m calling from inside the state and his line goes right to the music.
That’s okay. I’ll wait and blast him when I can.
I was very briefly Robert Menendez’s neighbor in 2006. He was never home, and impossible to reach by phone (even his lackeys). Finally met him at the Pavonia/Newport PATH station.
BUMP
We have to get used to the idea that everything the US federal government does has to be on the chopping block. All too soon, the US government may no longer be *able* to deficit spend. It may be effectively bankrupt, and the *only* money it can spend will be that which has been brought in as tax revenue.
This year alone, the US government is in estimated budget deficit of over $400B dollars. And that is *before* any bail out.
So do we sacrifice e-Verify? Cut back in the military? Slash Medicare and Medicaid and Social Security? Those are the top three parts of the budget.
The interest alone on the national debt is 9% of the budget.
The bottom line is that we have to get over the idea that except for the bare minimum, the age of “the government doing it for us” is over.
And yes, this includes e-Verify.
Just got off the line with his office. Woman started giving me the party line about his amendments.
I told her flat out, I understand all that and he needs to take his amendments and forget about it and focus on the fact that American jobs are at stake in the US and in NJ.
The woman saw the scam was not going to work. So she gave up. And I told her that I would be leading a protest in front of his home in our hometown.
She was very polite. She knew not to take it further and said she would convey the thought. I thanked her and that was that.
I heard that this morning on CSpan and have been trying ever since to call Menendez’s office.
No luck.
Blast him for me here in Ohio!
Finally got Corker’s office...
“The senator has not released a statement at this time”
This is not even important enough to him to even mention ????
Bump before I go to work in my lowered-commission job.
Do you want your name in a government employment database and have to get authorization to work?

In CA they have to have a CA ID to work...
Why not all over the country...
How else are you going to weed out the illegal aliens ???
Why would we do this? e-verify is designed to save taxpayers money by getting illegal invaders out of our Country so we no longer have to pay for their families heath care, education, housing, incarceration, etc., etc., etc.
HEY CONGRESS, SENATE:
I have a better IDEA ... GO HOME and STAY THERE. With the Job you’ve done thus far... you don’t deserve to come back..
There are lots of ways to “weed out the illegal aliens” without giving government bureaucrats power over whether or not Americans can work.
My Senator is John McCain. (You know, the one that authored the “Amnesty Bill” along with Ted Kennedy.) Senator McCain has never listened to the citizens of Arizona - why should he start now?
Besides, I hear he’s kinda busy right now........
Do you mean that everyone would get a unique number from the government, when we are still little children, that identifies who we are. Would we have to give this unique number to employers, banks, credit card companies, etc.? Would the government be able to track income and taxes due with this number?
Wow, we certainly wouldn't have any freedom left if this happened. I bet the government is just sneaky enough to have our retirement benefits tied to this number. We better nip this in the bud right now!
He is still pushing AMNESTY...
Have you had to get permission from the government to get work up until now?
McCain did say he would cut parts of government agencies. So did Barry!
I guess spending $700 billion on non-sense will really cut into agency budgets.
