John McCain announced that he will suspend his presidential campaign on Thursday to return to Washington to help with bailout negotiations. He urged his opponent Barack Obama to do the same.
The Arizona senator also asked the Presidential Debate Commission to postpone Friday’s scheduled debate with Obama so that he can work on the financial crisis bailout plan now on Capitol Hill.
“America this week faces an historic crisis in our financial system. We must pass legislation to address this crisis. If we do not, credit will dry up, with devastating consequences for our economy. People will no longer be able to buy homes and their life savings will be at stake. Businesses will not have enough money to pay their employees. If we do not act, ever corner of our country will be impacted. We cannot allow this to happen,” McCain said.
What McCain should say:
“I’m asking for a delay only. We need to focus on the economic emergency our country is facing. The debate will happen in time. And I’ll be happy to allow Senator Obama sufficient study time before hand.”
This is stupid.

Well, we should long ago have acknowledged we'll NEVER have the MSM behind McCain (or any Republican for that matter)...the larger question is, how will McCain's move play on mainstreet? I'm much more interested in what the people think than what the media thinks.

I disagree, telling the truth and doing the right thing is ALWAYS the right thing to do. McCain’s FIRST job is to represent the people of the state of Arizona and look out for them and the nation. That is the seminal difference here with both men, Obama things he is the anointed one, that HE is the change, it’s all about him. Politics is a religion to the left and McCain just asked Obama to postpone Christmas. The libs worship politics, self hate and covetness. Obama can’t understand why McCain would do this and is lashing out. One of many reasons he will lose like Al Gore did, Obama just wants this TOO much, it defines him. Our founding Fathers are rolling over in their grave at the thought of a guy like Obama and his single focus of aspirations of power doing whatever he can to attain the presidency.
