This cuts both ways, doesn’t it? The liberals won’t want this wine now, but maybe conservatives might buy much more of it due to its name.
How shallow is this of the liberals, though? They know that the name has nothing to do with Sarah Palin. Yet they are avoiding the wine just because of that? These intellectually superior liberals would reject a wine they like just because of the name? They know the vineyard which produces it has nothing to do with Sarah Palin and they reject it anyway?

Ah, the Whine and Brie crowd shows how much they embrace the darkness and fear the light.

Instead of complaining, the bar owner should be arranging a trade with someone in a republican area and they’d both make a small fortune.

In keeping with their new policy of basing preferences on perceived similarities to names of candidates, many in San Francisco are now enjoying a dish Potatoes Obama Bin Au Graten.

This wine’s page from the only American importer of it. They seem to sell only to retailers and restauranteurs. Couldn’t find a website for the Palin winery down in Chile. Maybe if any Freepers own a restaurant or store or know someone who does they could work out a deal with the importer. :) I’d buy a bottle to crack open on November 5th.

David Hinkle, a wine buyer with North Berkeley Wine in Berkeley, Calif., which is the West Coast importer for Palin Syrah, said the wines Chilean producer called him to ask if he thought McCains pick would have any effect on sales. So far, he said, they have remained stable. In addition to the Palin Syrah, the Palin vineyard also produces Palin Carménère and Palin Cabernet Sauvignon. But it appears that not everyone in the U.S. wants to put a cork in Palin Syrah.
In Houston, Palin Syrah has been flying off the shelves at Cepage Noir Wine Company. The store, in the Republican stronghold of Texas, once had cases stacked 20 high, but now only 74 bottles remain.
And sales have been strong even in solidly Democratic New York City. Appellation Wine and Spirits has carried Palin Syrah for about six months, and sales have spiked since Sarah Palin hit the national political scene.
If this is typical - WE'RE IN!
