A Canadian importer of Taiwanese instant coffee has voluntarily recalled several of its products because they may be tainted with melamine.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and importer Thai Indochine Trading Inc. Tuesday advised people not to consume the Mr. Brown 3-in-1 instant coffee products.
The affected Mr. Brown products are Instant 3-in-1 Mandheling Blend, Blue Mountain Blend and Arabica Coffees.
The recalled brands were produced between April 9, 2008 and Sept. 12, 2008 and have best-before dates ranging from April 9, 2010 to Sept. 12, 2010.
About 300 instant coffee boxes were distributed around B.C., Alberta and Manitoba, said the Markham, Ont. based importer,
There have been no illnesses associated with the consumption of the product, the CFIA said.

Ping!
One thing is for certain in China is that those found guilty of mixing mellamine in milk will get a bullet in the back of the head in front of thousand of onlookers.
Melamine was the substance added to pet food that killed so many dogs and cats.
I would never purchase any food products from China. In fact, I’ve ceased most purchases from China, period.
Don't know about that but they make jam on the same equipment that they process fish on. LOL Trader Joe's doesn't carry their products any more.
Which pet food poisoning scare are you referring to?
The 2007 pet food scare in which 91 different brands of pet food (all made by the same company) was made by Menu Foods, which is based west of Toronto in Streetsville, Ont.
It was eventually determined that wheat gluten used at two U.S. plants as the likely source of contamination, and effected cats more than dogs.
If I recall correctly, the wheat gluten was made in China.
Can’t trust anything made in China. The scary thing is, 95% of foods, even if processed in the USA, uses ingredients made in China. Worse, there is no way of knowing.

Oh absolutely! Government is supposed to take care of everything, Harper is supposed to wear a cape and be everywhere, inspecting meat processing plants, inspecting shipping containers coming in from China, Inspecting the border crossings and stopping smugglers from smuggling handguns into the country.
That's the problem with nanny state-ism, you just can't keep your dependants happy no matter how hard you try.
I now hear that the "arts community" (read lazy unemployed pot heads) are protesting en mass in K-bec complaining that Harper's 8% funding increase last year is actually a cut in funding.
If I were Harper I'd show them what a cut really is, and I'd show that leftist moonbat CBC taxpayer funded garbage what a billion dollar cut is.
Heck, Harper can use some of that billion to pacify the arts community...
Hmmm... Maybe I should be president of Canada for a year. I'll show them cuts they'd never forget.

TY JACK.
BOYCOTT CHINA
Thanks for the ping, Jack! We depend on you to keep us informed. Keep up the good work.
I am waiting for this to hit the U.S. via Walmart instant coffee, creamers etc. In fact, I am returning a jar of “Great Value” decaf instant today.
I hate China.
