There have been several threads on Free Republic about the McCain-Palin campaign event yesterday (September, 22, 2008) in Media, PA; and in each of those threads, people who had been in attendance mentioned that there were Obama supporters there staging a protest. Some FReepers mentioned that the Obama-bots were loudly chanting Obama's name during McCain and Palin's speeches. Others reported that they were shouted at by the Obama people as they left the event venue.
Well, I found out an interesting thing about those Obama protesters while I was searching blogs for photos of McCain and Palin.
A Democrat Committee Person from Franklin Township, PA named Mark Ungemach posted an "event" announcement on Barack Obama's campaign website for this protest. Here is a screen capture of the announcement:
While I am sure that Democrat Campaigns and their goons have organized protests at their opponents' events before, I don't recall them doing it so openly on official campaign websites before this.
Barack Obama told his brownshirts to "get in their faces", so I shouldn't be so surprised that they would take to doing the organizational work for confrontational protests of their political opponents in public on the official campaign website.
Politics, Chicago style.
Wow. Anyone know if there is a precedent for this kind of thing (officially sanctioned protests/disruptions of campaign rallies of opponents)?
Here ya go, gal! The more things (with Democrats) change, the more they stay the same. They got away with thuggery in the past, and they will no doubt try to do it again.
FYI *PING* Mark!
Hitler had his brown shirts. Obama now has his. Funny how much the Left hates our constitutional rights. I suspect if the Left had control of the Senate, Congress and the White House, we would be outlawed and arrested
Send this to Vanity/ the Godfather or Glenn Beck.
This must be an example of the “new” politics of the Obama/Biden campaign. Get in their face and shout down the opposition...What complete jerks these people are...
Sean,
Is this news-worthy for your show?
You put a thug at the top of the ticket, you have to expect thuggery.
What are they “protesting” ???...That someone dared challenge Obama’s coronation...
bump
Wow...can’t you just smell the change...
I forgot to say thank you for digging this up and posting it.
BTTT thank you for posting this!
There is no such thing as a “level” playing field when doing politics Chicago style. The first tactic is to find out all the dirt you can on the opponent, and dribble it out bit by bit to undercut the opponent’s campaign, by preparing polished “reports” on the failings and deficiencies which seem to contradict the positions staked out by that campaign, or just releasing, by back-door methods like whispering campaigns, the most scurrilous rumors that can be found, where there is a basis for them or not.
I have no idea if this is illegal. It is unethical.
I can not imagine a single GOP candidate place on their campaign website plans to demonstrate against another candidates event.
This really makes my blood boil. How do we find out if this is even legal under election law?
I have a feeling the issue has probably never been addressed since no other candidate has climbed out of the sewers and launched a campaign like Obama has.
LOL...That would be a good bumper sticker
