PYONGYANG, NORTH KOREA -- A simple question about Kim Jong Il's health provokes a torrent of angry, broken English.
"It's a pack of lies," declared Oh Keum Suk. The 26-year-old North Korean tour guide jumped from his seat at a coffee shop and in an exaggerated motion stormed away. Then he turned on his heels to chew out the foreigner who had dared ask about reports that the North Korean leader had suffered a stroke.
"Kim Jong Il is my father, my grandfather, my family. How do you talk about my family that way?"
The topic is so taboo that a North Korean interpreter refused to translate a question about Kim's health, her eyes wide and stricken, her mouth resolutely clamped shut.

Ping.
That’s some serious cult behavior there. Imagine what it would be like in America if the country was run by Obama and his cult followers and everything kept in order by his “Civilian National Security Force.”
I really do pity and pray for these people.
It's just so sad that human beings are forced to live like this.

Many times have I stated that Obama is taking some plays from Kim Jung Il.
Obama recently banned the use of cellphones and cameras at one of his recent public speaking events. IMHO, this was a communist play because he is taking measures to prevent the world from knowing that he makes mistakes and gaffes all the time. If the outside world finds out what he really thinks about America, then no one will vote for him.
Kim Jung Il is known to imprison and kill the people of North Korea if they have cameras or cell phones. He, too, has a fear of society finding out what kind of horrible person he is.
American Basiji?
Fantastic!
I wouldn't rule that out given the egomaniac's rampant narcissism.
That is an interesting photo given the current events in our world!
Yes, I understand the North Korean rowing teams had to pull out of the recent Beijing Olympics because their coxswains kept saying, “Stroke, stroke, stroke.”
Lol.
“”Kim Jong Il is my father, my grandfather, my family. How do you talk about my family that way?””
Well, we all knew he was a dictator who loves musicals. Apparently he’s quite the little incestuous pervert, on top of it.
:)
A. What kind of dolt would want to go to North Korea? B. What kind of dolt would not only go to North Korea, but compound the stupidity by asking a “political” question that could send him to the local detention camp on the grounds of “provocation” or “spying”?
Brainwashing will do that.
That pic deserves a BUMP!
What’s Basiji?
I read somewhere that if you just sit (unknowingly) on a newspaper that has a picture of the “Dear Leader” in it, you and three generations of your family can be imprisoned.
I guess it’s a safe bet that Radio Pyongyang won’t be playing “The Stroke” by Billy Squier anytime soon.
Reminds me of when the immortal 'Great Leader’ died and they had their state funeral. The weeping, moaning and gnashing of teeth was absolutely bizarre.
