Sarah Palin is set to upstage George W. Bush in New York Tuesday as the Republican vice-presidential candidate meets world leaders and the singer Bono on the margins of the United Nations World Summit.
Bush will be inside UN headquarters giving his final address as president, but his call for countries to confront U.S.-designated "rogue" states like Iran, North Korea and increasingly Russia risks getting lost amid the attention given to John McCain's running mate.
The Alaska governor didn't even have a U.S. passport until 2007, but the McCain camp hopes Palin's "coming out" on the world stage will boost her foreign policy credentials in the eyes of U.S. voters.

I didn’t have a passport when I was living in Alaska either. When you live in Alaska, who the hell wants to go anywhere else?
Cluck your tongue, canuklehead....I’ll be you haven’t even been to Alaska.
I'd rather call it limited experience. She is Governor of the only State with exclusively international boundaries, on of which with an enemy nation. So her experience is "limited" to Canada and Russia....still more than B. Hussein's.
Me too—saw the band in concert several times including the show here in Denver at Red Rocks. Saw them in the early 90’s too, but didn’t have as much interest in them then.
Bono is a lib, but he does not have diahreah of the mouth like most of his buddies. He knows when to shut up and how not to piss off half of the population.
I’m having a cynical day—I’m starting to think Washington and McCain are more likely to rub off on her.
Joan of Arc never had a US passport. Probably Abraham Lincoln never did either.
“Sarah will upstage Bono, too.”
You mean Bono will be NUMBER TWO?
I’m sick and tired of hearing that Governor Palin just got her passport last year. Frankly the Internationalist and Globalist have sold my country down the river time and again. I’m tired of politicians that are so invested in Nation Building and International good will that they are immobilized by their fear of what a despot like Hugo Chavez will say in the well of the UN. Barry the Magic _______ had a passport as a child, or so I’m told now he doesn’t even know how many States are in the United States of America. Forgive me if this sounds xenophobic but I don’t care how many stamps are in the passport if a person can’t name the 50 states of the union then I don’t believe they are qualified to be president.
Getting very tiresome.
Now me... I trade my sun glasses for a U2 concert for me and my closest friends... U2, Edge, Larry, Adam have to have "New Years Day" in their set list... one of my top 10 songs for the artists/bands I like.
and in this race the Gop VP candidate has MORE experience than the Rat presidential candidate....believe it!
Gov. Palin certainly made Charlie Gibson (whom I previously had not known) look like a punk.
Sarah will shine at the UN. She will live up to our highest expectations. Unlike Obami who always fails to live up to his.
Mrs. jimfree got her first passport at age 47. Is that a problem? (She’s internationally known in her field.)
I do.
you think that's bad?......I got my ears pierced at age 37!...37!..boy, am I trash or what...
Bono is the Pope of Populism - Has P.R. and panache o-plenty, but real estate, not so much...
