A week after a high-profile send-up of Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin on "Saturday Night Live," the NBC comedy show returned to making fun of the Alaskan governor in a skit where New York Times reporters sought to probe the possibility Palin's husband, Todd, was having sex with the couple's own daughters.
"What about the husband?" asked a Times reporter during a mock assignment meeting for the paper. "You know he's doing those daughters. I mean, come on. It's Alaska."

Er, that skit absolutely savaged the Dinosaur Media. What’s the problem here? Yes, incest-related humor can be pretty nasty but that is EXACTLY what the soon-to-be-extinct MSM is all about; they are the ones that promulgated the vile rumors about Sarah’s daughters and children and so on.
This was a harsh reality check for the NYT crowd.
A few weeks ago a conservative blogger did a similar satire that can be found here...

I don’t recall any freepers being upset with him.
SNL was making the exact same point as Iowahawk.
And Rush Limbaugh attempted to point out the bias of the media, too.
Look what happened to him.
Yes, the sketch made pretty clear that it was skewering the anti-Palin crowd, showing how outrageous and biased they could be.
Yes - I don’t know how anyone watching the sketch could see it as anything but a satire on the NYTimes/MSM crowd.
Maybe many of the people here didn’t actually see the sketch.
The real target here is MSM.
Exactly.
remember when Obama was bent out of shape over the cover of New Yorker?
They could have made the same point without mentioning incest.
They are suppressing release of this video on their website or video.
People can call NBC to complain:

This piece SEVERELY distorts the thrust of this skit. It was NOT making fun of Palin. It was making fun of the idiots at the NYTimes. It skewered the times reporters as a bunch of effete idiots who have never left Manhattan. And it was extremely funny (though the live audience was pretty quiet).
The premise is the editor was sending the top 50 reporters to Alaska to report on Palin. At one point they showed them a picture of a snowmobile. One of the reporters asks - is that some sort of baptism device?.
Junk like this is why I never read World Net Daily
SNL did that quite well with “Buckwheat Gets Shot” after President Reagan was shot. The endless breathless reporting of old news was funny, SNL is now best described as pathetic.
What if we joked that B.H.O. was a homosexual
I agree - this was totally ripping on the MSM, especially those reporters based in NY! The funniest part was when they kept asking the reporters what kind of gun the guy was holding in the picture (a shotgun). I couldn’t stop laughing at that - the first reporterette says - a revolver, a Derringer?
I don’t like jokes dealing with incest being a survivor myself, but this was DEFINITELY all about the anti-Palin reporters and had nothing to do with SNL slamming Palin and her family. Moreso, it showed what kind of absolutely disgusting lies, and fabrications are being published in the last few weeks alone. I’m just glad to see some on the “left” finally getting it, and that the MSM will realize we’re not all the idiots they think we are! It’s not like people haven’t noticed how pathetic they have become.
We have two other threads on this with hundreds of posts.
For the record, I think SNL nailed it this time. It was excellent.
Isn’t NBC up for sale?
Guess we need to pillory Iowahawk. :-)
Sorry, but I heard that the mental midget Al Franken was in on the writing. So, even though the skit may have skewered the media, it also did its level best to insult the Palin family as well. Out of all the possibilities to skewer the media, they came up with incest? Not buying it.
“Guess we need to pillory Iowahawk. :-)”
absolutely!
His writing was even worse!
The incestuous relationships he came up with were far more bizarre than what we saw from SNL!
“Sorry, but I heard that the mental midget Al Franken was in on the writing.”
Franken was in on the writing for the skit in the beginning of the show. It was lame.
Seth Meyer did the NYT skit.
As another freeper pointed out on another thread...you can tell the difference because the second skit was actually funny.
