Why isn't the "Biden Doctrine" on foreign policy playing a prominent role in Obama's campaign?

QUESTION: Why isn't VP candidate Biden campaigning on what he calls "The Biden Doctrine"? Sen Biden (D-Delaware) is the chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. Obama desperately needed foreign policy credentials----one can conclude Biden sold himself to Obama as his running mate based on pumping his foreign policy credentials. Ergo, Biden and Obama should be asked why the "Biden Doctrine" on US foreign policy is not playing a prominent role in Obama's 2008 campaign.

THE BIDEN DOCTRINE ARTICULATED

Biden says Israel, US should not argue publicly

PHILADELPHIA - Speaking at the Zionist Organization of America's annual dinner, Sen. Joseph Biden (D-Delaware; chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee) counseled Israel, the US, and US Jewish leaders to quit airing their policy differences in public. "As much as the Middle East is always on our minds, the best thing we can do is keep it off the US and world press," said Biden, chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. The US government's recent airing of grievances against Israel, such as Secretary of State Colin Powell's public criticism of Israel's incursions into Area A and targeted killings of Hamas leaders, "emboldens those in the Middle East and around the world who still harbor as their sacred goal the elimination of Israel," he said. "Why is it that we that that the one ally we have in that part of the world, that we have the right to publicly chastise them? We would not do that with any other friend," he said.

Biden recommended what he termed the "Biden Doctrine," allowing Israel to decide its own fate without outside interference. "It is not for you to tell them, nor for me, what is in their best interests. We should give them the right to determine what chances they will take," he said. --SNIP--

Sweet Jesus, let us hope and pray that Sen Biden wasn't sucking-up to voting blocs--pontificating on US foreign policy----just to get campaign contributions (insert duh icon here).

Vice-presidential candidate Biden.

The “Biden Doctrine” on foreign policy is a brain fart. Good grief, the cretin wanted to divide Iraq into three separate and distinct “states”, which is a recipe for disaster if ever I heard one.

Biden Doctrine:

Doctrine of crisis prevention, not preemption

Hold China accountable; it’s capitulation, not competition

Move from a Musharraf policy to a Pakistan policy

Pakistan is potentially most dangerous country in the world

China holds the mortgage on our house, uses the US as their proxy to wage and pay pay for war

American troops on the ground in Darfur now

Biggest threat to US is from North Korea, Iran, and Russia

Enlarging NATO to include Eastern Europe

Killing any attempt to impose trade sanctions if China sells weapons

Strengthen of the trade embargo against Cuba, eliminate the embargo against Viet Nam

Multi-year commitment to Africa for food and medicine

Acknowledge the Armenian Genocide of the early 1900s

Urge Venezuela to re-open dissident radio & TV stations

Biden has been all over the map. About April of 2007 he said the surge in Iraq would fail. Before that he said Iraq should be split (segregated) into three parts based on religion and ethnic background. This would have been a victory for terrorists, Syria, and Iran (pardon the redundancy).

He proves the point that if it were up to him, Obama and the rest of the Socialists, we would have lost in Iraq. If it were up to them, we would not have gone after the terrorists where the live, and there would have been more terrorist attacks in the US after 9/11/01. More terrorist attacks would have destroyed our economy, but the DemoSocialists say the war on terror is too expensive. Their collective IQ’s total 25.

Aside from the above, the Demos also ignore the fact that the Bush Doctrine has liberated about 50 million people in Iraq and Afghanistan from brutal dictatorships, torture, mass murder, and complete lack of freedom.

Biden might be consistent here, but consistently wrong.

For example, privately he threatened Begin to cut off aid if Israel didn't stop settlement building. Begin took it as an insult, after all he was the leading hold-out against Israel accepting reparations from Germany. Biden treated Begin and Israel as a supplicant state, not the way you should deal with an ally with a truly representative gov't, facing decades of irrational hatred without parallel in history.

Gov. PALIN:” Well, first, we are friends of Israel, and I don’t think that we should second guess the measures that Israel has to take to defend themselves, and for their security.”

So Sara subscribes to Sen. Biden’s doctrine?

It would be hilarious if someone asked Obama about the “Biden Doctrine” and Obama said “what is that?”.
