Name em and shame em. Seriously. Fox News and the Journal should be all over this. Judging from the number of Democrats quoted in the piece as being upset about it, theres no shortage of people willing to leak. Lets find out who, precisely, decided that inviting a prominent Republican to a nonpartisan rally might warrant a visit from the IRS.
And then, in the words of a famous cult leader, lets get in their faces.
Sources tell CBS 2 HD that a decision to disinvite Palin from the high profile rally after Clinton pulled out in a huff came as the result of intense pressure from Democrats.
This is insulting. This is embarrassing, especially to Gov. Palin, to me and I think it should be to every single New Yorker, Assemblyman Dov Hikind, D-Brooklyn, told CBS 2 HD.
Sources say the axes were out for Palin as soon as Sen. Clinton pulled out because she did not want to attend the same event as the Republican vice presidential candidate
The groups sponsoring the rally against Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad speaking at the UN were reportedly told, it could jeopardize their tax exempt status if they had Palin and not Clinton or Democratic VP candidate Joe Biden on hand
Its an absolute shame that this has happened, Hikind said. To threaten organizations to threaten the Conference of Presidents that if you dont withdraw the invitation to Gov. Palin were going to look into your tax exempt status thats McCarthyism.
Im absolutely appalled at the behavior of the Democrats, said Bob Kunst of Defenders.net. Im a Democrat and for the first time in my life Im going to vote Republican. I cant take it anymore.
NBC wrote about the tax-exemption issue two days ago but they made it sound like something the organizers had taken up of their own accord. Quote from an unnamed official involved: The IRS is very clear, Hillary Clinton does not equal Sarah Palin You have to have equal representation of candidates. You do? Heres the speaker list from last years anti-Iran rally at the UN.
Scott Garrett is a Republican congressman; as far as I know, every other pol on the list is a Democrat. As for the Obama camps role in this, John Batchelor, whos pals with rally organizer Malcolm Hoenlein, hints here that they werent directly involved in the nastiness because, as usual, they had surrogates willing to do their dirty work for them. Fine.
As I say: Lets find out which Democratic lawyers, precisely, arrived at the very novel legal conclusion that inviting both parties to a rally to which only one party RSVPs amounts to politicking in breach of ones tax exemption. And then lets ask St. Barack why he couldnt find one person on his side apart from the guy who called Palin a Nazi sympathizer a few weeks ago, of course willing to speak at this rally to balance the ticket.
Exit question: Isnt there something oddly familiar about all this? Exit answer: Yes there is.
I thought it was the IRS that determines tax exempt status ... by the time they got around to investigating them and actually doing something it would have been all over .....
It’s time to start talking about Obama’s blatant misuse of the United Church of Christ’s tax exempt resources to promote his campaign. They asked for it, so let’s give it to them.
I hope the Jewish voters remember this. The Obamanoids are not their friends.
Good job, Barack. Keep it up...we'll take it.
Wow.

I seriously doubt Kunst is voting for McCain/Palin, but if he does, great. I remember him battling Anita Bryant in Miami back in the 70s for homosexual rights. Not a middle-of-the-road dem.
Maybe he will, maybe he won’t but if HE feels this way, then I’ll bet there are a whole lot of middle-of-the-road dems that actually WILL vote republican.
Believe me, I pray you are right. Nobama would be a disaster for America.
I think this stuff about about tax status is bogus. As far as I'm concerned the Conference of Presidents is responsible for these rallies, Malcolm Hoenlein's representations notwithstanding. They are the umbrella group. They are not one of five groups that put these things together. The idea that tax status could be threatened is laughable. I was to one of their NYC rallies a couple of years ago where Hillary was the only major political speaker. Nobody said anything about taxes then. Hillary didn't say anything that offended me or anyone I know on the political right. (Maybe her breathing bothered me.) Sarah Palin wouldn't have said anything that 99.9% of the people attending the rally would have objected to. The tax thing is a flimsy excuse because the disinvitation is so obviously dishonest.
Hoenlein and his group still have a chance to change their minds. They probably won't, but if they do not the Conference and all the groups belonging to it are finished so far as I am concerned. Their interests do not lie with Israel but rather they lie with furthering the socialist agenda here in the United States.
BTW, I used to have great respect for Hoenlein.

An added bonus to a McCain win will be the subsequent disorder in the democrat party; lots of finger-pointing and recriminations over the cause of the defeat and a civil war between the Clinton and Obama factions over control of the party machinery.
Doesn't sound like they're all going to hold hands, gather around the campfire and sing Kumbaya.
Prediction:
This will become more and more popular as we get closer to November.
I know folks that have voted RAT all their life that are fed up with nObama and his minions.
Ping.
