Joe Biden racks up two more entities he's affronted: the Knights of Columbus and the state of Ohio. As to the former, they send him this letter objecting to his comments on Church abortion doctrine. As to the latter, he's insulted Ohio State's Buckeyes football team which is akin (or worse than) calling the Green Bay Packers' home turf "Lombard Field." Isn't he living proof that time spent in the Senate has no relationship to common sense, street smarts, or the ability to stay out of trouble? If you were trying to disprove the notion that wisdom comes from experience, you couldn't invent a better example than Biden.

As Rush said, Biden's had 30 years of foreign policy experience and he's been wrong on every major issue. Read the letter to him from the Knights of Columbus. It's a gem. We now have a time when such distinguished theologians as Nancy Pelosi and Joe "blowhard" Biden are presuming to explain Church doctrine on abortion and, of course, intimating that such things as infanticide are really ok. Biden's typical speech is characterized by histrionics and at least one gaffe. That can be laughed at as the usual Biden buffoonery. But it strikes me that even a clown crosses the line when it comes to spinning the Church's ethical teaching on such a life or death matter as abortion.

I think it would look really bad to have him drop out AFTER the debates.

Lots of rumors about this. Either way, it is a disaster for Obama.
1) It would show that his most critical decision of the campaign was a dismal mistake...a big mistake, calling into question his judgement.
2) It will be obvious, whatever the reason that is floated, why he did this and it will make most women even madder at him.
3) Hillary may well not accept the nod. She can see the handwriting on the wall and will not want to be associated with such a loss, prefering to let the Obamanation go down clearing her way for the DNC nod in 2012.
Just my thoughts on it.

If Obama pulls the vp switch, it will, essentially, turn the
Obama administration over to the Clinton administration. Bill will be running things.
It would be really terrible for Obama to admit that he can’t do it without the Clintons.

I’m sure Obama and the DNC have “buyers remorse” about Biden but dumping him would create more problems for them than it would solve. I still can’t believe that they could be so naive about that beltway boob who’s been around forever and has an established reputation for this kind of behaviour. At least it proves one thing: OBAMA HAS NO JUDGMENT AND HIS RANTS ABOUT “CHANGE” ARE A CROCK!!

Biden in Delaware: “I was out in Ohio,” he said, clutching a football. “I told the folks in Ohio that we’d kick Ohio State’s a$$!”
being born and raised in Toledo, Ohio, I can say this won’t win him any votes...;)

I predict Hillary will not want to be compared up one side and down the other with Palin...any sooner than she must. I don't think Hillary is all that bright, but she did have enough common sense to know if she was going to be a senator and planned to run in a state where she had NO ties, NY was the place. I believe she knows a Palin comparison will take place well beyond the NYC metro area.

I heard the same thing, that he would drop out “due to health problems” and Hillary would take up the banner. This was supposedly a DNC internal memo but I have no verification nor attribution for it so took it with the proverbial grain of salt. Same date, 5 October, was mentioned, evidently this is a rumor making the rounds. Or maybe the old “run it up the flagpole and see who salutes”?

Don’t worry. Eventually Joe will find some reason to claim identity with Ohio just as we’re now hearing about how he’s claiming identity with PA because he happened to be born and lived in Scranton for a few years about six decades ago. When you’re all things to all people you eventually end up being nothing to everybody.
