ABC News ^ | 9/19/08 | Justin Rood

An internal government document obtained by ABC News appears to contradict Sarah Palin's most recent explanation for why she fired her public safety chief, the move which prompted the now-contested state probe into "Troopergate."

I wouldn’t dismiss Palin. No one I know is tired of her. In fact, the attacks have made people more curious.

I thought she did well in Gibson’s interview. She did even better if the parts Gibson edited out are put back in.

The media need people like you on the inside, bringing perspective. This goes for the left and the right. Unfortunately, situations like the one you described are rare in a world where “everyone” is a democrat.

First off, I didn't "dismiss" her. Acknowledging the larger reality isn't dismissal. Secondly, just because no one you know personally is tired of her says nothing about the country as a whole--no poll I've seen shows that McCain/Palin have broken 50% nationally with any consistency. And I simply don't see any evidence that anyone is more curious about her, especially since poll after poll shows people don't feel as positively about her as they did when she first came on the scene.

Again, get outside your own circle. The Gibson interview was not a success to anyone who's objective. We do our side no service by merely cheerleading and saying Palin is always great and always ahead.

MSM's goal in these hatchet jobs isn't to present the truth. They create a wild, yet memorable story headline with connotations of misdoings. Later in the story the 'meat' that backs up the headline fails to deliver. But, the MSM doesn't care - they've done their job by creating the headline, because that's the only thing that will stick in voters' minds.

Yet, the MSM has badly misinterpreted their tactics in Sarah Palin's case - her supporters JUST DON'T CARE. They see past the BS, accusations and badgering. Every appearance she makes in front of thousands of true-hopefuls increases the party's resolve and strength. And, this my friends (to borrow JMs favorite phrase), is what eats at these Obama-lovin MSM phonies night and day.

Remember how Obama won his first election? It was by sending lawyers after the female incumbent and having as many signatures required to run disallowed due to any technical difficulty his lawyers could find. He ended up running unopposed the lawyers threw out so many she was disqualified to run.

“It’s funny how the Democrats always accuse the GOP of dirty tricks when they’re the ones practicing them. As far as I can tell, the GOP dropped the practice with RINO Nixon, while the left has become 8th degree masters.”

I believe the Dems and MSM use the “30 strikes and you’re out rule” when it comes to wrong-doing by non-Republicans. Apparently Trooper Wooten has many more strikes ahead of him before the MSM decide to get outraged about the situation.

Now that they’ve figured out there’s no dirt to nail Palin with on troopergate, I’m waiting for some enterprising reporter to flip the argument and say that Palin wrongfully allowed a complete incompetent to remain employed as a state trooper because he had family ties to her! The MSM is shameless in its hypocrisy.

When Palin and McCain win in a landslide I hope they open up a hunting season on bogus journalists who decide they are going to write a story irregardless of the facts which are that Palin did not authorize this moron to go to DC to talk to Murkowski about this program, and a routine travel voucher with a signature doesn't change that.

The homosexual leftist and minor league propagandist ROOD decided he had a story and let fly and why not, after all there are plenty of imbeciles out there who think this means something.

HUSSEIN the muslim commie is going down, and so is the leftist media.

Here he is, minor league propagandist for the socialist party that calls itself Democrat,Justin Rood

“Bill Clinton gets goopy with an intern, no problem. Jefferson, Rangel, you name it, shown to be crooks. They assault people and steal elections, but the media sneers and blames Republicans. Spitzer must have ticked off some commies somewhere or he would still be in power.”

You forgot to mention democrats getting away with MURDER - or at least negligent homicide - in Ted Kennedy’s Chappaquiddick incident.

You must be looking at different polls than I am. I see no evidence McCain/Palin are pulling away, and even if I did I'd want to see polls for the next week to see if it's significant and solid.

As you can imagine I'm eager to see the evidence to the contrary.

Palin and her family NEVER tried to get rid of Wooton.(PERIOD) They were concerned about him because Wooton threatened to kill Sarah and her father. That is the whole sum of it. Mongan has given sworn testimony that NOBODY ask him to fire Wooton!!! Mongan felt “pressured” because of the Palin family interest in Wooton (I think I would be interested to.)

My take here: ABC News Slimes Sarah Palin

When I first read this “exclusive report” my first reaction was, “You’re shitting me, right?” Upon re-reading I now realize that it’s a classic example of the kind of slimy innuendo that the MSM has been throwing at Sarah Palin since her candidacy was announced. The members of the MSM who are determined to insure that their candidate will win this November are piling it deeper and higher in the hopes that a general cloud of doubt will form and a young and accomplished woman will be consigned to the ash-heap of history.

In this context it seems that ABC has authorized a travel budget that is aimed at making disparaging and untrue statements about Governor Palin for the purpose of derailing her campaign. I wonder if it says that in the travel vouchers at ABC?

Now the dammed democrats, socialists, and communists decided they should be represented by the color blue (deceiving bastards) and true Americans be represented by the commie color red.
I understand how you feel, but I tend to think of that a little differently: "blue-bloods" vs. "red-blooded Americans" seems appropriate to me, now.

Governor’s change members of their cabinet at will. The cabinet in Michigan is not a civil service employee and has no job protections if a Governor leaves office or the current Governor wants a change. It’s expected and for a lot less honorable reasons then a trooper tasering a child. Usually it’s just for a difference over policy matters or politics that causes a department head to be out of favor with the Governor’s plans. I work in a state department and we’ve had 2 department heads in our agency and the same Governor.

The title should read, “New Media FUD about Palin’s Troopergate Claims”. The Mainstream Media should register as a 527 for Obama.
