What a fantastic crowd!
I almost went but given that my job has been busy and the roads around the airport would have been crazy, I decided not to.
Comments or opinions - anyone?

“Country First or Obama First.”

So true.
To: MplsSteve
How that guy can say, “Country First!”, with what he has planned for his first 120 days in office, is beyond me.
I do think it’s the proper thing to say, but John McCain needs to do some soul searching, and I’m not convinced at all that he has or will.

Just goes to show that an Obama victory would be a pyhrric one only for his terrorist buddies and the Old Media. Everybody else will hate him and fight him and any dhimmicratic portion of the Congress tooth and nail.
But unlike the liberal temper tantrum thrown since 2000, the people protesting this time around will be the ones who actually have jobs and make the country work.

I just got back! It was awesome! The energy in that place when they first walked out was incredible. I could barely see because I had three 7-foot giants (though very nice AND they served out country) standing in front of me, but one of my friends took a lot of photos, and she got some really good shots from what I could see.
OH and my pastor did the prayer —how cool was that?

The kiddos and I went and the crowd was huge and fired up. I was completely caught off guard by the size of the crowd which I estimated at easily 10,000 or more. Traffic was a bear but it was an honor to have my kids see the next 2 POTUS in person. I met fellow FReeper Grey_Whiskers and got quite a few thumbs up at my freerepublic.com t-shirt.
I'll post pics later.

Just over 50% -- the Palin pick is what did it.
The women are going gaga over her, some of the guys are too.
(And Todd ("he's so cute!") Palin isn't hurting the women's vote either).

Who is you Pastor? That was a way cool prayer and a great way to kick off the event.

Even if the polls think this race is tight. Even if my husband thinks this race is tight just like he thought the last 3 were or were going to go badly. I for once do not think this race will even be close, I just do not see it. The older dems are going to stay home or vote McCain.
If McCain had not picked a conservative then this race would have been tight because our base would have also stayed home, but McCain picked Palin.
We have an energized base, and the dems have split their party down the middle with the crazy left on one side and the old guard on the other. They have de-energized or just plain disgusted their strongest voter.
To: Lady Heron
I’d say McCain acted as the agent of picking Palin. Someone with a higher pay grade actually picked her...

I for once do not think this race will even be close, I just do not see it. The older dems are going to stay home or vote McCain. Sadly, the Obama thugs are forcing states to register voters (college kids) who may also be voting in their home states. Areas of Ohio will give out ballots without any ID!
There is just too much voter fraud going on already & it's nothing like we've seen before, there is a Strong-Arm bunch behind BO and they are doing their job well!

The last time the Reps took MN was 1972 and the only time they have done it since 1956. It would be a massive upset and an indicator of a landslide for McCain. I put the odds at less than 50%. Close but no cigar.

The pastor is Pastor Steve Gould from a metro area Evangelical free church.
It was so funny, because one of the girls I was with had binoculars and spotted him in the first row of seats directly by the stage. She yelled out, “It’s Pastor Steve!” Then I made a joke that “maybe he is doing the prayer today.” When we heard his voice, because we couldn’t really see from our position, we all were pretty surprised. Very pleasantly.

McCain failed to say which country. His voting record indicates it might be Mexico maybe?

The “Country First or Obama First” quote strikes at the heart of Obama’s arrogance and vanity. Excellent attack!

Everybody! Check out the photos at the story link. There are some awesome ones! Sarah hugs a disabled vet, some great shots of the ‘First Dude,’ Todd, McCain in a silly mood...and some crowd shots that show you it was packed to the rafters!
