Military Voter Guide

As Election Day nears, we need help registering our military members to vote. Many are already registered, but some are having problems getting information on how to receive their ballots. If you know any military members, please refer them to their Command Liaison, or click on each State for more information.

All information provided below is from FVAP (Federal Voting Assistance Program). If you are currently living abroad and not military, you can also use this website to register to vote and receive an absentee ballot.

There are rumors going around online that we want to dispel:

First, there is not a shortage of absentee ballots.  We know this to be true as we contacted FVAP personally.

Second, military personnel cannot vote after November 4th. Like every other American, Election day is still November 4th, 2008. Certain States will allow your ballot to be received after the election date, but most expect the envelope to be postmarked either the actual date or the day before the election (November 3rd, 2008).

Third, Voteforchange.com is not a government affiliated voter registration site. The Obama  campaign owns and runs this particular site where voters can register to vote. The McCain campaign has a similar set-up via their website. Again, neither of these campaigns are affiliated with FVAP.

If you are a military spouse or dependent, please make sure you have the correct "home of records" for your active duty member.

Regarding the table below, information is more detailed at the various websites. Please be sure to carefully read the instructions.

You really amaze me, liking all that old silent stuff!

Did you like “Creature from the Black Lagoon”? It scared me

And someone had better be darned sure that these ballots get postmarked, mailed and counted. I was FRIED last time when the military ballots were tossed for some inconsequential violation that the Democrats were squarely behind.

I would send a private jet to get them here. I hope President Bush does just that.
