This is what you get when you uncouple capitalism from Judeo-Christian values. It’s every bit as scary as communism, fascism, or islamism.
“The author’s argument is equally applicable to members of the Welfare Class, but is unlikely to be so applied.”
As well as most members of congress.
2 Chron 28:2-3
2 For he walked in the ways of the kings of Israel, and made also molten images for Baalim.
3 Moreover he burnt incense in the valley of the son of Hinnom, and burnt his children in the fire, after the abominations of the heathen whom the Lord had cast out before the children of Israel.

I'm sure they would pay for the privilege of using it.
Shucks, they might even incorporate it into their church's worship services, replacing the baptismal fonts with gas grills. It could even do double-duty on their special religious holidays, such as Super Bowl Sunday, Roe-v-Wade Memorial Day, Gay Pride Day, Cain's Birthday....
Antoninus, thank you! for making that very important point.
Same article was posted on Lucianne.com, and every one of the people who got on and commented, assumed for some reason that this Provenzo guy was a liberal or a Leftist. In fact he's a Rightist: the founder of the Center for the Advancement of Capitalism, a contributor to Capitalism Magazine, and a self-proclaimed promoter of the Objectivism.
I'm going to contact him at nprovenzo@capitalismcenter.org and let him know what I think of his aggressive and unjust attitudes toward blameless children who have never done him any harm.
Mr. Provenzo, I guess you will never receive the hugs and giggles, the warmth and affection of a person like Trig Palin. I guess you will never see the Image and Likeness of God in him; or in yourself.
And that leaves you poor, Mr. Provenzo. That leaves you pitiable. This leaves you grossly disabled in an invisible inward place --- far more disabled than Trig Palin, who would lavish love --- God bless him --- even on your stony little heart.
Don't give them any ideas.
I heard the same kind of stuff about Terri Schiavo from other “turbo-capitalists”,(read: economic but not social Republicans and right wing libertarians). It disgusted me then and disgusts me now.
They think that sick people who cannot pay their own way are a burden on society and should be left to the wolves
we kind of have that now....anyone who is already sick and trying to buy personal health insurance is pretty much screwed these days
actually, I think this guy is a Republican....check out his biography.
We’re fine - thanks for asking. I hate to even complain since so many lost so much and are still without power/water. It was scary on a scale I hadn’t realized before, but we were together and safe.
This article, also, shows how we've got 'em on the run:
Columnist Labels Palin Backers "White Trash"....etc. (Fox.com)
Sorry. Still not playing, troll.
unfortunately, Capitalism is already being divorced from basic Christian morality. The greed amongst corporate america is going to be the downfall of this country.
luckily, it hasn’t gotten this callous (provenza) yet, but it is on it’s way
What’s that from?
No Más!
No matter. Libertarians promoting baby killing can’t be defended anyways.
I’m glad to hear everyone is safe after the storm. We were expecting some bad weather, but were spared. All we got was a few windy days.
No rain, which we really need here. We are several inches short for this year and haven’t had much over an inch in any of the past few months.
Financial Burden
Same could be said for people with aids. A choice they made and the tax payer picks up the expense with meds, etc.
I decided to check, but often find this the case. Illogical writers like this one, so enamored with abortion because of the “financial burden’ excuse, are usually the biggest open border promoters out there. They don’t mind that we bear the burden of 20 million illegal aliens.

Senate blocks immigration reform
:: Posted by Nicholas Provenzo at 3:17 PM
“The defeat of this bill is a clear victory for xenophobia and protectionism. While the proposed legislation was far from perfect (I maintain that any immigration quota is a violation of the individual rights of existing citizens to do business with whom they choose) the bill was as least an attempt to recognize reality and acknowledge that as long as America is free and prosperous, there will be a powerful incentive for people to abandon their failed regimes in order to live here. Instead of welcoming such people and integrating their talents and wiliness to work into America, the xenophobes and protectionists have successfully kept them as a criminal underclass.”
So we should kill someone because they might be a burden on the state? How about Medicare recipients? SSI recipients? Foster kids? they are all ‘burdens’ on the state, too, even though it may not be their fault (certainly isn’t with foster kids).
Logan’s Run. Carousel was where people who reached the age of 30 were killed, under the guise that they were to be “renewed.”
