Sorry I don’t put much stock in the DNC’s CBS Division.

The CBS polls have been out of line with most of the rest, so this doesn’t really surprise me.

McCain needs to get on the offensive about Obama’s ties to Freddie and Fannie and McCain’s attempt to reform them in the past that was blocked by the dems or this thing is over.

That's it! The MSM has spoken! Let's go home while The One becomes America's first Marxist President!

This is just foreplay until the debates, as long as either candidate remains close, these polls are worthless.

Hussein Obama needs to lead all polls by 15 points from now until election day in order to win.

Leading by 5 points or less won’t get it done for the One...

This totally contrived poll is nothing more than a morale booster for the Dems. It is an outlier, to say the least, and does not compute with all the up-to-date and more reputable polls showing McCain gains in the electoral map where it counts. UP in Virginia, UP in Florida, still solid in Ohio, PA still in play — no huge shifts in any of these states except TOWARDS McCain. For this poll to be true, it means that states like Texas and California (not NY!), that aren’t in play to begin with, had a momentary surge for Palin and have now gone back home to roost. Personally, I could care less if 2% of Texas and 5% of California changed their minds about Palin. OUTLIER, OUTLIER! Worthless poll.

These polls mean nothing this far out. Obama is still in trouble in the battleground states.

It’s interesting......how come you only see numbers like that from people that really, really want Obama to win? This guy has got to loose big time.....by big numbers. I see no way out of it.

C’mon, polls are easily manipulated in order to further the media narrative and create phony news. It’s the MSM way of feeling powerful and important.

When we get close to election day, the wide discrepancies dramatically narrow. Do you know why? It’s not because people have finally made up thier minds. It’s so the pollsters can say, “Look at my record of final predictions”.

They want you to think that the fluctuations in polling numbers reflects an uncertain electorate. Hogwash! It primarily reflects MSM manipulation.

- Been there, seen it to many times to be fooled.

It is time for the official, McCain-sanctioned Rev. Wright, Ayers and Infant born Alive advertisements. McCain MUST destroy Obama’s chances before voters start to lock into their choices. With these skeletons in Obama’s closet, if this election is close on election day, it will be electoral malpractice.

Gallup has Obama by 2, hot line by 3, ras has McCain by 1. In September 2000 Bush was down 10!, In September 2004 Kerry was down 8! Ah, these things move. If McCain is roughly even going into the debates he's where he needs to be.

We're seeing how easily our holy, untouchable and perfect two party system can be infiltrated and subverted by communists and traitors, and no one except deranged extremists like ourselves will want to see it. I fully expect the radical communist to win in November, simply because he presents himself and is accepted by the MSM and the opposition as fully vetted, fully within the mainstream, fully acceptable, as, why, another Hubert Humphrey. An American tragedy in the making!

Things are tightening up for now. Maybe this will get the Pollyanna crowd here to stop crowing about landslides and start getting to work. I remember this same stuff in 2000 when Gore was discounted completely on this site.

Is anybody here besides me signed up to work the polls?

Rasmussen has the Dem advantage to be +5. If you use that partisan quota, then the poll would be tied. Which is what Zogby, Gallup, and Rasmussen have it at.

RCP’s latest average is dead even, with an extremely close electoral count (273 Obama to 265 McCain).

I’d be happier if McCain’s lead was still five or six points, but I’m not too concerned with the numbers as they stand. This has been an incredibly fortunate week for 0bama, and yet he’s only ahead by a tiny bit even in the most generous polls. McCain’s got plenty of time and opportunity to win this thing, IMHO.

Unfortunately, the headlines get reported of an Obama lead, never any internals analysis, and that begins to shape the outcome.
