H.R.6899
Title: To advance the national security interests of the United States by reducing its dependency on oil through renewable and clean, alternative fuel technologies while building a bridge to the future through expanded access to Federal oil and natural gas resources, revising the relationship between the oil and gas industry and the consumers who own those resources and deserve a fair return from the development of publicly owned oil and gas, ending tax subsidies for large oil and gas companies, and facilitating energy efficiencies in the building, housing, and transportation sectors, and for other purposes.

Kirk is from IL and a solid liberal.
It wouldn’t have made any difference. Hopefully we can count on the Senate and Bush shine the light on the sham they call an “Energy bill”.
I noted with disgust that one of them is my congressman, Vern Buchanan, of Florida’s 13th district. This is the guy who won by 364 votes over whiny Democrat Christine Jennings—a Nancy Pelosi clone. The reason for his small margin is that he pissed off many Republicans during the 2006 primary and they withheld their votes during the general election. He is laboring over the misconception that the environmentalists, who vote solidly Democrat, will support him if he “shows how much he cares for the environment.” I have repeatedly emailed his office regarding the need to “Drill Now, Drill Here”, but it appears to be futile. We need a decent Republican candidate in 2010.
Ditto LaHood.
“..while building a bridge to the future..”
When I hear that smoke-and-mirrors kind of talk I get distrustful of government.
I see someone woke Ike Skelton from his mid day nap.
Ramstad, ditto MN
Greetings RightWingConspirator:
Why mot run against him in the next primary?
Cheers,
OLA
The ones with their names in italics (under “AYE”)
We should be just as mad at the republicans who did not vote!!
TIME TO GET ON THE HORN FOLKS!!
THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS!!
Combine this with the outrage of China drilling in Iraq and it feels like the twilight zone where no common sense resides, just anti-Americanism.
I hope they hammer her with this one continually for the next 7 weeks.
Once again I am humiliated. It is bad enough to have Old Joe Biden as one Senator. To compound that, his assistant, the Marcel Marceau-clone, is Tom Carper. For the unititated, Carper votes with Biden 100% of the time.
Now, along comes Mike Castle - supposedly a Republican. He might as well change his name to Mike Murtha, for all the good he does.
VOTE FOR HIS OPPONENT - WHOEVER IT IS.
I called to thank my congressman for voting against it. It will be vetoed if it gets that far.
We will...We Will indeed...
