Polls: McCain making gains in surprising places
Modern Conservative ^

Posted on 09/14/2008 7:23:54 AM PDT by connell

Minnesota is now perfectly purple: tied at 45 45.

Mac is now not only ahead in Rasmussen, he's over the 50 mark.

Zogby shows McCain leading in Pennsylvania . . . and pulling further ahead in Ohio, Florida. And taking a big lead in Virginia, New Hampshire, and Nevada . . . and a small lead in Colorado.(HT: Hot Air)

Never underestimate the American people's ability to see through the hype and recognize a Socialist when they see one.

I will not hold my breath, but if it does come down to a landslide, I think this will deal an extreme blow to the extreme Left in the Democratic Party.

Hillary can now step in and say, “I told you so” and move the party to the center much like Clinton tried to do.

I do not think the Clinton’s are centrists, but they their primary driver is power. Once they are in power they will try and implement liberalism to maintain that power.

"Modern Conservative" is a little slow.

The Minnesota poll is the only somewhat surprising one, but the rust belt is prime McCain pickup territory.

The national poll is hardly a surprising area.

The Zogby polls are junk.

We’re going to need that kind of landslide, because Obama is going to cheat.

Looking at Zogby’s polling, Barr is killing McCain in allot of states. He’s taking 8% of the vote in some places. This could be very troubling. I’m a libertarian leaning person, and see no benefit to enabling Obama’s victory by voting for Bob Barr.

Will these Barr supporters be happy with a socialist president and a liberal democrat congress?!?!

We have momentum, but every sports fan knows that momentum can shift suddenly. The debates will likely determine this race.

Who would have thought? Minnesota, Washington, Michigan, Pennsylvania......

Minnesota-Wisconsin-Michigan-Pennsylvania have been the key states for a Republican victory this cycle ever since Obama won the nomination. This kind of thing has been expected ever since Obama got beaten like a drum throughout blue collar areas in the Great Lakes region.

McCain up by 5 in PA? That does not seem likely. McCain up by less than 2 in North Carolina? Other polls have McCain up BIG there. I do not buy any of these Zogby polls. They do not make sense.

I was thinking, long before Palin, that as Obama’s aura faded, it could be Republican landslide. Palin didn’t hurt.

Speaking of Colorado. My sister was a Reagan supporter and even was chairman of her County Republican party back then.

I think it was the influence of my Uncle and his “wife” timmy :) who is very active in the Democratic Pary.
At any rate she slowly fell away. I don’t think she would admit it but I think she voted for Kerry. I do know that she was going to vote for Obama.

Then along came Sarah. She said that Sarah has given her hope for the future.
