A Winning Streak with Evangelicals
The Palin pick is only one reason McCain is suddenly doing well with the religious right.
Sep 12, 2008
When word leaked the Friday morning before the Republican National Convention that Sarah Palin was John McCain's choice for vice president, a group of 40 religious leaders meeting in Washington all gave a standing ovation. They were convinced that McCain would settle on one of his buddies, Tom Ridge or Joe Lieberman, men whose pro-choice views render them unworthy contenders from the Christian-right perspective. They didn't know much about Palin, but the fact she wasn't Ridge or Lieberman was enough to make them cheer.
They were so surprised by McCain's bold nod in their direction that their whole view of him changed. They were willing to re-evaluate him in the light of this astonishing appointment (though some in the room warned against getting carried away).

Oh please. Does she really believe this nonsense? That a group "of 40 religious leaders" would cheer someone without knowing anything about them? Does Eleanor not understand that we live in the information age and that some of us actually did know of Gov. Palin long before now? That we are an informed people not mind numb liberals?
Eleanor's stereotype of right wingers is showing.
Can't read any more b/c all I hear is her whiny, nails on blackboard voice in my head.

Comment: Clift can’t stand it. The usurper Obama has been thrown from his mighty steed and is now wandering around the battlefield with his helmet over his eyes—
“A horse! A horse! My kingdom for a horse!”
Sorry pal, we’re fresh out. Too bad you didn’t mount up with Hillary.”
I’m still LMAO!

Bullsh!t, Eleanor. Just because you were ignorant, don’t assume everybody else was, too.<<
Exactly.
>>At the press briefing Tuesday where Keeter led the discussion with a PowerPoint presentation, a reporter asked if McCain’s choice of Palin could backfire if it is framed as McCain selling out to the right. The answer is yes,<<
“Selling out to the right?” McCain? Puh-Lease! I don’t hear much talk about Obama “selling out to the left.”

She is SOooooo envious of Sarah Palin. She hates her. Eleanor Clift is an old, catty feminist with a severe case of crab-pot syndrome.
