The Palin-Whatshisname Ticket (Frank Rich: McCain is Palin's puppet)
NY Slimes ^

Posted on 09/13/2008 2:23:49 PM PDT by Chet 99

WITH all due deference to lipstick, let’s advance the story. A week ago the question was: Is Sarah Palin qualified to be a heartbeat away from the presidency? The question today: What kind of president would Sarah Palin be?

It’s an urgent matter, because if we’ve learned anything from the G.O.P. convention and its aftermath, it’s that the 2008 edition of John McCain is too weak to serve as America’s chief executive. This unmentionable truth, more than race, is now the real elephant in the room of this election.

No longer able to remember his principles any better than he can distinguish between Sunnis and Shia, McCain stands revealed as a guy who can be easily rolled by anyone who sells him a plan for “victory,” whether in Iraq or in Michigan. A McCain victory on Election Day will usher in a Palin presidency, with McCain serving as a transitional front man, an even weaker Bush to her Cheney.

The ambitious Palin and the ruthless forces she represents know it, too. You can almost see them smacking their lips in anticipation, whether they’re wearing lipstick or not.

-snip-

McCain’s conspicuous subservience to his younger running mate’s hard-right ideology and his dependence on her electioneering energy raise the question of who has the power in this relationship and who is in charge. A strong and independent woman or the older ward who would be bobbing in a golf cart without her? The more voters see that McCain will be the figurehead for a Palin presidency, the more they are likely to demand stepped-up vetting of the rigidly scripted heir apparent.

I guess this is Frank Richs way of welcoming Sarah to the big show.

Stay classy Frank, stay classy.

McCain’s conspicuous subservience to his younger running mate’s hard-right ideology and his dependence on her electioneering energy raise the question of who has the power in this relationship and who is in charge.

I've not liked McCain from the beginning. His position on Global Warming and immigration bug me to no end. I'll admit it, I'm voting for Palin, and the other guy. =o)

Frank Rich is bitter, bigoted, and incompetent. It is hard to imagine any other "newspaper" than the NY Times which would continue to publish his twaddle. And only the out-of-touch readers of this dying newspaper would take him seriously.

Did I miss anything?

Frank’s homosexual dementia is on display again. He should go back to his job as a drama critic.

Oh come on, Frank. Is this the best you can do? Coordinating with Axelrod and Fluff, are ya?

Pretty amusing how the Dems/media are switching gears from Palin being some nothing beauty queen to an evil schemer who will be pulling McCain’s strings. These people are nuts. I assume, like you, that this will be the Obama campaigns new line of attack.

Let’s see. Ever since Governor Sarah Palin burst on the scene, an event I am thoroughly enjoying, Libs have managed to insult, denigrate, mock or otherwise put down:
1. Handicapped people
2. Hockey moms
3. Pregnant women
4. Moms, in general
5. Governors
6. Women
7. Our troops
8. Librarians
9. Senior citizens

What’s next - dwarfs?

Frank, you are a very good writer, but a very poor author. The question I would like you to address is this: Is Barrack Obama qualified to be a heartbeat away from the presidency? Is he really qualified to the the nominee of a major political party? And if you think he is, why? Is it his enormous executive experience? Is it his long record of legislative accomplishments? Is it his exhaustive international travels? Is it his brilliant insights into economic management? Is it his obvious love and devotion to the USA? What is it, Frank? C’mon, tell us.

from Palin being some nothing beauty queen to an evil schemer who will be pulling McCain’s strings.

This is what they do. Remember, W was too stupid to come up with an original or intelligent thought on his own. Then, he was so clever, he tricked them all into the war in Iraq.
So, of course, it wasn’t W at all, it HAD to be Cheney or Rove pulling his strings.
So, who will they say is pulling Palin’s strings???

I was very worried that Frankie would write all of this without mentioning the dreaded Rove (only whisper his name or he might appear and steal your ACLU card. Nope, I wasn't disappointed

As Republicans know best, fear does work.

But usually that axiom is about scaring the voters, not about bringing out a candidate who scares the entire intestinal tract from your opponents.

If the Times' subscription department was this scared their ads would start with "The NY Post causes cancer and kills kittens".
