Father, we pray for our president and brother in Christ, George W. Bush. We praise You for being with him, and ask that You would continue Your goodness to him and his family. May he obey Your commands, Lord, that his peace will be like a river, his righteousness like the waves of the sea.
Lord, we pray for our troops. We thank You for them, and pray that Your favor might surround them all. We ask that Your healing hand would be with the wounded. We remember those serving in harm's way; give them strength and wisdom for the fight. May they dwell in the shadow of Your wings.
Father, we thank You for granting success to our government's efforts against the terrorists for seven years. This is a mercy we have not deserved, and we praise You for it. We continue to remember all our brothers and sisters in Christ; Lord, build up Your temple.
We pray for Senator McCain and Governor Palin. Make ready their hearts to receive Your instruction, and teach them what is best for them. May You direct their way.
Lord, from ages past You have revealed Yourself to mankind. We have seen Your glory in the beauty and wonder of Your creation; we have heard of Your holiness, Your sovereignty, Your righteous will. Every morning You renew Your compassion. On Golgotha You showed us the depth of Your love and mercy - toward sinners. We praise You, Father, and offer all these prayers in the Name of Jesus, Amen.
A call to prayer.
Lord, I pray for your will to be done. I ask for blessings for President George W. Bush, John S. McCain, Sarah Palin, and for their families. I pray that you will guide them, and protect them from their enemies, and keep them from temptations.
Please be with us as country in the up and coming Presidential Election, we need you always.
I pray for our troops, for their protection and blessings upon them and their families.
Thank you for all blessings.
Amen
Day Twenty-Nine: September 13, 2008
51 days, 11 hours and 4 minutes left until election day.
For Candidates to Worship Regularly and Have a Sound Church Experience
Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one anotherand all the more as you see the Day approaching. --Hebrews 10:25
Loving God, I praise You that You have made us with a need for fellowshipfellowship with You and fellowship with each other. Thank You for answering this deepest need of our hearts with the gift of the Church.
Today I ask that the candidates running for office in our country will grow in their commitment to the local church. May they long for the sweet fellowship of Your people, and may they make worship and fellowship with their congregation a priority in their lives, today and in the years to come. In Jesus' holy name, amen.
Amen, Irish Rose!
AMEN SISTER AND GRACE TO ALL CHRISTIAN PATRIOTS!
“Wait on the Lord.”
- Psalm 27:14
It may seem an easy thing to wait, but it is one of the postures which a
Christian soldier learns not without years of teaching. Marching and
quick-marching are much easier to God’s warriors than standing still.
There are hours of perplexity when the most willing spirit, anxiously
desirous to serve the Lord, knows not what part to take. Then what shall
it do? Vex itself by despair? Fly back in cowardice, turn to the right
hand in fear, or rush forward in presumption? No, but simply wait. Wait in
prayer, however. Call upon God, and spread the case before him; tell him
your difficulty, and plead his promise of aid. In dilemmas between one
duty and another, it is sweet to be humble as a child, and wait with
simplicity of soul upon the Lord. It is sure to be well with us when we
feel and know our own folly, and are heartily willing to be guided by the
will of God. But wait in faith. Express your unstaggering confidence in
him; for unfaithful, untrusting waiting, is but an insult to the Lord.
Believe that if he keep you tarrying even till midnight, yet he will come
at the right time; the vision shall come and shall not tarry. Wait in
quiet patience, not rebelling because you are under the affliction, but
blessing your God for it. Never murmur against the second cause, as the
children of Israel did against Moses; never wish you could go back to the
world again, but accept the case as it is, and put it as it stands, simply
and with your whole heart, without any self-will, into the hand of your
covenant God, saying, “Now, Lord, not my will, but thine be done.
I know not what to do; I am brought to extremities, but I will wait until
thou shalt cleave the floods, or drive back my foes.
I will wait, if thou keep me many a day, for my heart is fixed upon thee
alone, O God, and my spirit waiteth for thee in the full conviction that
thou wilt yet be my joy and my salvation, my refuge and my strong tower.

SOLI DEO GLORIA!
When I asked a friend how she was doing 4 years after the sudden death of her husband, she said, I feel I am healing. Tears tend to burn my eyes rather than pour down my face. To me, that is a measure of healing.
How fitting are those words to describe the changes that happen as the years pass for grievers who have endured an unexpected loss.
Scripture promises comfort in our suffering (2 Cor. 1:3-7), but that help does not come all at once. In fact, from what I have heard, our desired healing may not arrive completely in this life. This is what others tell me who are further down the road of grief than our family is, 6 years after losing our teenager Melissa. In the midst of our pain, we entrust our lives to Gods sovereign direction, but we also realize that gnawing sadness will always reside in our hearts.
Indeed, God has promised that He will wipe away all tears in heaven (Rev. 7:17), but until then the healing will be incomplete. Grief lessens but does not dissipate. The psalmist said that while Gods Word gives life, there is still the combination of comfort in my affliction (Ps. 119:50). Even in lifes toughest circumstances, we can, with Gods help, enjoy a measure of healing.
What a beautiful prayer today, Irish Rose. I join with all of you in praying for God to be with President Bush as he fulfills his duties to the Country. He has been a loyal and faithful servant of yours, Dear Lord, even when his enemies despise him, we know You are with him And we thank you, Lord, for the wonderful blessings you bestow upon each of us daily. Let us forever be grateful to You and Praise You. Forgive us in our daily lives when we do not obey You. We thank you for all you do. Be with our Military in Harm’s Way and all over the world. Bless the people who have witnessed the terrible storms, Guide them as they mourn their losses. Only You can make it better. We thank you for all and ask these things in Your Holy Name, Amen.
Amen.
I join in prayer for President Bush, the Administration, McCain, Palin and all our heroes standing in harm’s way!
Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments, and his paths beyond tracing out! (Romans 11:33)
'O Lord of Hosts, Blessed is the Man that Trusteth in Thee.' (Ps.84:12)
Thanks for coming, Kitty. It’s always good to see you.
