The first time I can remember feeling personally insulted by a political commentator was back in 1988. It was the Republican Convention and they named George H.W. Bush their nominee for president. He chose the little-known Dan Quayle as his running mate and some wonk commentator said that Bush could then count on the womens vote because he had selected such a handsome man to run for vice president.
Ouch!
What a condescending and ignorant comment! I couldnt believe that this guy thought women were so stupid, superficial and shallow. He dismissed women as critical thinkers and implied that women dont worry about the economy, foreign affairs, health care, education, or justice. The TV anchor indicted women as easily swayed by unimportant physical features.
And now we learn that in the last 20 years virtually nothing has changed.
Can you tell me what Sen. John McCain sees in Sarah Palin?.....

We should all thank God, fasting on knees, for that.
Let’s see Hillary lead a fast break, or you name it.
Thank God for Sarah Palin!
Just for starters, unlike Hillary, most of Sarah Palin’s career is actually hers in her own right.
When *I* saw it, what I thought couldn't be repeated here, but the cleanest version would be a Homer Simpson-like "D'oh"!!
the infowarrior
If Hillary had not been Mrs. Bill Clinton, she would not now be Senator Clinton but Sarah Palin would still be Governor Palin.
I would appreciate all of you letting Ms. LaMarche know your opinions of her wonderful </sarc> column.

“Sarah Palin no Hillary Clinton”
. . . and we are all very grateful.
Sarah Palin is no Pig In A Pant Suit?
Thank heavens...
Millions are now rethinking their support.
< /sarcasm >
Well, you know what they say,..a pig in a pantsuit, is just another,.....Hillary. /off
This is an astute observation. For example, one of Sarah Palin's legs could not be hollowed out and used for an umbrella stand!
Someone thought Dan Quayle was good looking?
Hillary Clinton, she ain’t. Sarah Palin is a genuinely, beautiful person, inside and out.
“one of Sarah Palin’s legs could not be hollowed out and used for an umbrella stand!”
Hillary’s could also be used as a battering ram at the castle gate.
Yes, I think the headline is a compliment also. Thank God for that!
It’s probably accurate to say that for many—maybe even most—pubbie women a man’s looks are not the only thing they react to in a candidate. Others being issues and ability to communicate. But I think it is fair to say that the majority of dem female voters focus on appearance—aka good looks. With these women celebrity trumps everything— except, maybe, a direct threat on their life. It is why Kerry and the other hair head actually got to be pres/vp candidates. It also explains why so many demrat women took their daughters—babies to teen agers—to Monica Lewinsky book signings. Her achievement: She blew the president of the US—Bill Clintoon. It ought to be against the law for people as vacuous as them to vote.
Not like Hillary at all. No way could you put her in charge of controlling “Bimbo Eruptions” for a cheating husband. If she were in Hillary’s situation (found out she married a slimeball) she would quickly be known as a single woman. But it’s also highly unlikely that she would have ever married someone like Bill in the first place.
GOOD thats one for our side
