Defenders of Wildlife Action Fund has released a new ad against Sarah Palin.
It will air in a "targeted buy" in the Toledo and Dayton, OH, markets, spokeswoman Jessica Brand said. She added that they plan to scale it up in Ohio and in other swing states later, but didn't immediately have a dollar figure.
That kind of ad will only appeal to the voters they already have.
The fate of moose in Alaska is the number one issue in swing states this election year.
Powerful stuff.
Well, duh. They don't want them to "escape". They also call it "unethical", as if the hunters are supposed to trek 200 miles in the snow to kill a handful of wolves.
LOL, I hope they buy LOTS of these. Those parts of Ohio are hunters’ turf. By and large, they DESPISE people like the “Defense of Wildlife Action Fund” or whatever PETA-like organization this is from.
I sure am liking Palin better each day...this video just proved it.
Just “stayin’ at the top of the food pyramid.”
I thought they wanted the blue collar workers to vote for Obama? Does the incompetence of the Obama campaign and their surrogates is amazing. They actually think normal Americans are freaks like them.
All this add does is emotionalize a practical solution to wildlife control and, yes, the first poster is correct.....these are votes they already have.
What a waste of freaking money. The PETA crowd was never, ever going to vote for anyone other than Bambi.
Oh good move. Run these in all the hunting states. That will bump up the McCain ticket a few percentage points.
Toledo and Dayton???
They chose the wrong demographic. They will waste their dough in these areas. They should look to more urban areas.
This is rural country. We have problems with coyotes around here. You think ‘wolves’ are gonna bring tears?
People eat tasty animals, only canibals eat Defenders of Wildlife!
They’re going to run this in Ohio? The hunted animals can’t escape? When you are hunting something are they supposed to be able to escape?
If this is an ad about hunting, I don’t think it’s going to have much negative impact in Ohio. Ohioians are pretty much “from my cold, dead hands” people when it comes to the 2nd Amendment.
Excellent comment. I was thinking the same thing.
As if Soccer mom’s across Ohio are kept awake at night worrying about Wolves.
The only wolves they are worrying about preside in Washington D.C.
Now if she could only get an aerial hunting bill passed there...
This is so cool. You could not have a better ad for capturing the gun owner swing vote. With this ad, OH is a lock. With any luck the networks will pick it up and show it in prime time news as well. I think they should show it in CO and SD as well so we can also lock down those states.
Here’s a pretty good synopsis of aerial wolf hunting. At least, it seems pretty fair and balanced to me. I had to look it up. Don’t know anything about it.

The ad might be a little more effective than you think. The ad's creators picked wolves as the "target" (as opposed to a moose or a bear) because wolves look like their lineal descendants, dogs, and you what abuse of dogs did to the image of a certain NFL QB. Of course, if any of the potential viewers of this ad had every confronted wolves in the wild, they'd never confuse a wolf and a dog again. You're right, though, that the best way to fight this sort of ad is to point out the choice between killing a few wolves, or allowing them to decimate the sacred caribou. It's just that maybe some GOP-type, or some Palin-friendly 527 group may want to point out the fundamental logic-flaw in this ad to those who may not be familiar with the relative status of wolf vs caribou in Alaska.
