What a jerk.
I wish someone had some capture video pics of Charlies face.
You Go Girl!! ..err Gov. Palin.
Ha! Ha! Charlie Gibson got his clock cleaned!
ABC was deliberately trying to make the viewer feel uncomfortable by editing Palins interview like a Hollywood movie. Oliver Stone must have been in the editing booth.
Editing creates pace and emotion. The editor of this piece was trying to make the viewer feel unbalanced.
They inserted jump cuts, which are never used in TV journalism. Thats when an edit is made without the camera angle changing. That technique creates a feeling of uneasiness because it is jarring to the senses.
The rhythm of the edits were uneven , the camera angles were horrendous and the audio at times was cut off during some answers in a very jarring manner.
The producer and editor did everything in their power to present a disjointed and visually unflattering portrait of Palin.
Just compare the Palin interview to the free flowing, melodic nature of this Gibson interview with Barry:

A clear victim of PDS and the Palindrome effect
There’s no “Failing Palin”
The libs have already last at this attempt
He could care less... he executed his mission.
Next time "you" have a have a question for Gov. Palin about the Bush Doctrine why don't "you" explain what you originally thought the Bush Doctrine was and not what you said it was last night in your condescending correction to Palins answer!
In the interview last night Charlie Gibson had this exchange with Gov. Palin:
GIBSON: Do you agree with the Bush doctrine?
PALIN: In what respect, Charlie?
GIBSON: The Bush -- well, what do you -- what do you interpret it to be?
PALIN: I believe that what President Bush has attempted to do is rid this world of Islamic extremism, terrorists who are hell bent on destroying our nation. There have been blunders along the way, though. There have been mistakes made. And with new leadership, and that's the beauty of American elections, of course, and democracy, is with new leadership comes opportunity to do things better.
GIBSON: The Bush doctrine, as I understand it, is that we have the right of anticipatory self-defense, that we have the right to a preemptive strike against any other country that we think is going to attack us. Do you agree with that?
The following is what Charlie Gibson has said in the past what the Bush doctrine is ... It is the same as Gov. Palin answered last night!
September 21, 2001 CHARLIE GIBSON: The president in his speech last night, very forceful. Four out of five Americans watched it. Everybody gathered around the television set last night. The president issued a series of demands to the Taliban, already rejected. We'll get to that in a moment. He also outlined what is being called the Bush Doctrine, a promise that all terrorists organizations with global reach will be found, stopped and defeated.
September 21, 2001 CHARLIE GIBSON: Senator Daschle, let me start with you. People were looking for a Bush Doctrine. They may have found it when he said the war on terror will not end until every terrorist group of global reach has been found, stopped or defeated. That's pretty broad. Broader than you expected?
Charlie Gibson tried to trap Gov. Palin with this interview question. As you can see from the qoutes above Gibson believes the Bush Doctrin is exactly the same as how Palin Answered!
Got you Gibson!
I wish she would have said “ why did you distort what I said? Are you trying to throw the race to Obama? Do you have an agenda? Why can’t you be fair and balance like Oreilly use to be?
No wonder they are so afraid of Palin, she is going to enable Mccain to not only win, but to win in a landslide AND change the game forever.
The Libs know when she wins it’s a game-changer...forever.
That said -- WHO is the handler who arranged for this interview on the same day she sends her son off to war? (and yes, I'd ask that if she were a male candidate, too). Until our side learns that the singular intent of any MSM interview is to "get" the Repub, we're lost.
Charlie Gibson lost the debate last night... on national TV
he showed that he is in league with Kouric, Olberman, and Mathews...
Pathetic; he should run for the democratic city council member in NY or become a community organizer.
My sister called this morning and said she had identified Charlie Gibson’s tone. It’s the tone a woman hears when a mechanic is talking down to her thinking she doesn’t understand a car problem. I likened it to Dabney Coleman’s character in 9 to 5, a completely sexist attitude toward a woman.
And to think, he’s the least evil of the 3 network anchors. IMO.
Like he had a dog turd on his lip. What a cretin. And I think she was rather apalled at his unprofessional sneer.
So Gibson intentionally, and maliciously it seems, short quoted Gov Palin?
If Gibson had a conscience, he should be ashamed of himself. He doesn’t and he isn’t. However, God is not mocked.
.....looking down over the rim of his glasses like some snobby intellectual.....
I am glad that that scenario was aptly described. My liberal spouse had the interview on. Older man that I am, I nearly lost it. "Dinosaur" I shouted. "You old, old man". Older myself though, by a long margin, I noticed this in one brief side view , Gibson looked like an old fashioned blunderbuss from the Charles Dickens era. I was told to shhssh. I did and felt much better. For the woman, one word, irrespective of any political comment.
Bravo!
It will be very interesting to see if Gibson tries to pull more of this stuff today.
That doctoring of the “God’s will” quote was malicious and deceptive. It defies belief to think that Charlie Gibson was not aware that he was working off half a quote.
Pray "THAT" there is a plan and pray "THAT" God is on our side, Charlie... "THAT". Staple "THAT" to your forehead you smarmy bastard.
The drivetime dj talkshow guy, michael smerconish, was whining about Palin's comment on this subject. Like Charlie, he didn't get it. smeconish also went on to say that Lincoln never said such a thing. He's wrong, but he would never admit it.
I don’t think the media gets it —
that they’re the ones being scrutinized, and not the ones they think they are inquisitioning (manipulating), because the public “gets” it more than they do.
So now they all kind of look like pathetic copycats of the Jerry Springer (Keith Olbermann, etc.) style of self-importance, while everybody at home watching (and in the studios too) are laughing their heads off at such pretentious presumptuousness.
But, O, here comes Mr. Bombastic himself. We must fall down and worship.
