Sorry for the shameless vanity, but.....
I think I found a great theme song for Sarah Palin. All it needs is someone to take some of her rapidly expanding file of stock photos that I have seen here and elsewhere, and put it to this music.
Some of you may have seen this Obama video:
Here are the lyrics to another song by the same (undoubtedly leftwing) group, Cake:
Cake short skirt, long jacket
I want a girl with a mind like a diamond
I want a girl who knows whats best
I want a girl with shoes that cut
And eyes that burn like cigarettes
I want a girl with the right allocation
Whos fast, and thorough, and sharp as a tack
Shes playing with her jewelry, shes putting up her hair
Shes touring the facility and picking up slack
I want a girl with a short skirt,
And a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong jacket
I want a girl who gets up early
I want a girl who stays up late
I want a girl with uninterrupted prosperity
Who uses a machetti to cut through red tape
With fingernails that shine like justice
And a voice that is dark like tinted glass
She is fast, thorough, and sharp as a tack
Shes touring the facility and picking up slack
I want a girl with a short skirt,
And a long, long jacket
Nanananananananananananananananananananananananananananana
I want a girl with a smooth liquidation
I want a girl with good dividends
At citi bank we will meet accidentally
Well start to talk when she borrows my pen
She wants a car with a cup holder arm rest
She wants a car that will get her there
Shes changing her name from kiddy to karen
Shes trading her mg for a white chrysler le barron
I want a girl with a short skirt,
And a
Looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong
Jacket
Nanananananananananananananananananananananananananananana
Here's a link to the song so you can hear what it sounds like:
I think this song fits Sarah to a T. I also think a video like the Obama one linked above, with Sarah Palin pictures would be very appropriate. Does anyone agree, and if so, is anyone out there able to do the job?
Snow Machine....
Now you’re really making the Heart hags angry!
Gehrig and Costanza?
Great choice - I like it.
Why, exactly, does Sarah Palin need a theme song?
Why does the US need a national anthem?
Why does Notre Dame need a fight song?
Why did they play Baracuda at the end of the GOP convention?
All very interesting questions.
LOL. That opposite thing really worked out for him, didn’t it?
They weren't exactly 'hags' when that video was shot. :) Anyway, I read on a few sites where at least one of the band members and/or a manager fled to Canada in 1971 to escape the draft.
My mistake, snow machine. I thought that term was odd when I first heard them use it. Apparently it’s Alaskan. I think of something for clearing your sidewalk when I hear that term.
I thought you might catch that. A mind is a terrible thing to lose. :^)
It gives history of the memories of places we’ve been and people we now. Are you to say you don’t associate music with your life? That’s why. :^)
But they're angry NOW.
They were pretty good lookin' in the day. Too bad we all get old, eh? I'm not the teenager that listened to them anymore, either.
I’ll admit I’m from AK but it’s been awhile. The Family moved there in ‘51 and left in ‘65. Yes, dad shot meat at every chance, and he was Gubmint. (kids to feed ya know) ;^)
I heard a song tonight about Sarah cast to Davey Crocket melody.
The Ballad of Sarah Palin
Born on a mountain by the Yukon Sea
Oiliest state in the land of the free
Raised with a gun so she knew philosophy
And kilt a caribou when she was only three.
Sarah, Sarah Palin! Queen of the wild frontier!
She fought single-handed in the beauty pageant war
Till the blondes was whipped and big hair restored
And while she was handling this ‘permanent’ chore
She made herself a brunette forevermore.
Sarah, Sarah Palin! Dressin’ for com-pa-ny!
When her child had Down’s, her grief was gall
The Dems said Sarah, just abort it all
And lose yourself in the glacier tall
But she answered instead the motherhood’s call.
Sarah, Sarah Palin! Spirit of democracy!
She went to the capital and served a spell
Pluggin’ up the pork and corruption as well
Took over Juneau so we hear tell
And told the Bridge To Nowhere to go to hell!
Sarah, Sarah Palin! Servin’ her country well!
John McCain called and said you ain’t done
This here election has just begun
So she packed up her laptop and her virtual gun
And lit out a’smilin’ for Washington.
Sarah, Sarah Palin! Leadin’ the blogoneers!
Her land is biggest, and her land is best
From grassy plains to the mountain crest
She’s ahead of us all in meetin’ the test
We’re followin’ her legend right out of the West.
Sarah, Sarah Palin! Queen of the wild frontier!
Excellent! And good choice of songs to adapt for her, since she lives on our last frontier.
There are a whole bunch of pictures on the Anchorage newspaper web site. They have a link where people can post their personal pictures of Sarah.
That was good work. Who did it?
"In 1977 Heart's record label, Mushroom Records, fueled rumors that Ann and Nancy were lesbian lovers by running a full-page ad in Rolling Stone showing the sisters bare-shouldered and suggestively captioned, 'It was only our first time'. When a reporter suggested, backstage after a live appearance, that the sisters were sex partners, Ann returned to her hotel room and wrote the lyrics to 'Barracuda' to relieve her frustration.[4] The song became one of Heart's biggest hits (#11, 1977)."
[4] "Refer to the episode of 'VH1 Behind the Music' which follows the career of 'The First Sisters of Rock & Roll'. More information about this episode can be found at - Heart episode"

Lyrics to Baracuda:
So this aint the end -
I saw you again today
I had to turn my heart away
Smiled like the sun -
Kisses for real
And tales - it never fails!
You lying so low in the weeds
I bet you gonna ambush me
Youd have me down down down down on my knees
Now wouldnt you, barracuda?
Back over time we were all
Trying for free
You met the porpoise and me
No right no wrong, selling a song-
A name, whisper game.
If the real thing dont do the trick
You better make up something quick
You gonna burn burn burn burn it to the wick
Ooooooh, barracuda?
Sell me sell you the porpoise said
Dive down deep down to save my head
You...i think you got the blues too.
All that night and all the next
Swam without looking back
Made for the western pools - silly fools!
If the real thing dont do the trick
No, you better make up something quick
You gonna burn burn burn burn it to the wick
Ooooooohhhh, barra barracuda.
Ohhhhhhhhhhhh.
