Sarah Palin:"War Has Got To Be A Last Option." "We Must Not Blink, Charlie."(Gibson/Palin interview)

First on TVNewser: Insiders tell us the first Charlie Gibson/Sarah Palin interview is complete. The first sit-down lasted 30 minutes and included questions about energy independence, foreign affairs and whether Gov. Palin is ready to be Vice President. "Absolutely," is her response. When asked if she is ready to step in and be president of the United States. Palin answers, "You bet."

We're told Gibson asked for two extra minutes and used it to ask Palin whether she agrees with the "Bush Doctrine." Among Palin's responses:

• "The top priority is to defend the United States of America. I know that John McCain would do that."

• "With new leadership comes opportunity to do things better."

• "War has got to be a last option."

• "If a strike is imminent we have every right to defend our country...and that's what a McCain/Palin administration would do."

• "In order to stop Islamic extremists we must do whatever it takes. We must not blink, Charlie."

• "War has got to be a last option."

To the mentally-challenged, "war" is bombs falling on Duluth, Fresno, Austin and St Paul; or scryscrapers blowing up in the same places.

Anything short of that should only peeve the irrational hawks.

We need a gentler, kinder form of war, where we somehow hold off the rabid dogs and reason with them...

PALIN: I believe that there is a plan for this world and that plan for this world is for good. I believe that there is great hope and great potential for every country to be able to live and be protected with inalienable rights that I believe are God-given, Charlie, and I believe that those are the rights to life and liberty and the pursuit of happiness. That, in my world view, is a grand — the grand plan.

Those are the words of a great patriot. She doesn't flinch and she doesn't apologize for having convictions. I hope Charlie understands that he is in the presence of greatness.

Over at the ABC site the comment section is savaging Gov Palin. They see a war monger and a danger to us. It’s upsetting, so I won’t go back. They are also claiming that Georgia was not a NATO member. Is that correct?

I understand your frustration. Justice is certainly a mission from God. It certainly isn't a mission from Margaret Sanger, who, as you say, is their god in one form or another.

And when you read what she actually said, she was simply saying what Lincoln said, namely let us pray that our plan is God's plan. It's hard to fault that, unless you are a screaming, foaming-at-the-mouth, leftist hater of anything transcendent.

Just watched the clips on their website. Why do they only have a side shot? They have no face shots of her.

I wonder if Obama knows what NATO is and what it means. Would he honor those obligations if Russia attacked a NATO ally? Why doesn’t somebody ask him...

What the hell is she thinking. Does she not realize she was supposed to tell us if she thinks Dinosaurs were here 4,000 years ago? I really hope to god Charlie asks her this tomorrow. We need to know that. She will have the nuclear codes.

There was a period in my life when I was infatuated with good looking Tomboys. I recall reading an article sometime in the 90’s that these women were born with elevated levels of a chemical or enzyme called CAH, and that the odds of this occurring were about 1 in 10,000. From the looks of it, Palin has a bunch of it and combined with her beauty, she’s gotta be one in a million.

I'm not sure that you are on the right track:

"Examples of conditions caused by various forms of CAH:

* ambiguous genitalia, in some females, such that it can be initially difficult to determine sex
* vomiting due to salt-wasting leading to dehydration and death
* early pubic hair and rapid growth in childhood
* precocious puberty or failure of puberty to occur (sexual infantilism: absent or delayed puberty)
* excessive facial hair, virilization, and/or menstrual irregularity in adolescence
* infertility due to anovulation
* hypertension"

- Wikipedia

"A 1984 study by the Johns Hopkins University sex researcher John Money found that 37 percent of CAH women identified themselves as lesbian or bisexual; the current estimate of the proportion of lesbians in the general female population is from two to four percent." - link

No wonder our enemies want Obama to win.

They don’t want to tangle with McCain and Palin. What a great team!

I honestly wish she had never agreed to any interviews with anyone from the liberal media. They will do everything they can to trip her up and come up with something they can use against her and McCain.

Let's be real here. If she couldn't stand up to snarky journalists, then I would be concerned about her dealing with China and Russia. Certainly, they have to be even more underhanded?

Looks like she did beautifully. She's ready because she knows what she believes. She doesn't have to pretzel twist herself into what she thinks her supporters want her to believe.
