I believe is a major mistake by the McCain camp. They could have let the 'Pig' comment go and been endeared even further. But now, they are taking on the victim status and seem small and petty, and as if they are using this as a way to avoid talking about issues. This response is going to cause Obama to take back the lead again in the polls.
This is his greatest weakness. Even during the O'Reiley interview when he "admitted" the surge worked, he managed to do it while also maintiaing that he wasn't wrong about it.
He seems to need to fight for even the most tic-tac positions. He seems to never learned that perfection is impossible to acheive (and that voters don't even expect perfection, just someone that recognizes when they have been wrong and corrects themselves.)
You are so wrong on many levels. The MCCain response got it onto TV and the lips of the morning talking heads, his camp now has smarmy jokes that can carry them for while. Obama is off his message AGAIN and has to take precious time out of his day to explain it, which he did a terrible job of. The McCain camp can now respond with a above the fray cutting jibe about it while having acolytes and low level supporters to continue to be upset. It is classical misspeak politics at its finest.
Pigs is Big this year

Go to the first comment section Vitaboy and the two U tube links, it cements Barak’s comments were deliberately about Sarah Palin, he is smooth.
Democrats? Common courtesy? These thugs steal elections. Obama is a creepy, nasty, slimy street thug who is perfectly capable of calling Sarah Palin a pig. He associates with dangerous people. This fear of making a scene that the quoted sentences express is one of the things that holds us back. He must be utterly defeated in any political way possible.
I would love people to stand up on the issues. Pigs, stinky fish, old mares and lipstick are hardly issues that I find important. Why play the victim? Oh poor me, he called me a pig, so what, hammer on the things that are important, stay above the fray. Why lower yourself to their level? In context he was saying that McCain talking about change is like putting lipstick on a pig, it’s still a pig. I’ve heard the phrase many times in my life. You can only be offended if you let yourself be offended.
” somehow i dont think the american people are that stupid. they are ticked that obama and the left wing attack machine never stop. i actually like that mccain gives it right back to em. i am sick of republicans laying down all the time in response to bad behavior from dems and the media.”
Agree with you. Time we dish it out, rather than sit back and absorb it.
Barry tried a Bill Clinton with this one. Poor timing on his choice of this phrase, and even poorer that Biden reinfored it using lipstick, and woman oriented comments regarding the potential selection of Palin.
I totally agree. A loftier approach would have been; ‘what did you expect from this muslim trash?’
“if Palin or McCain would have used a phrase that included monkey or chimp or anything else that could have remotely referred to a black person?”
Does “Maccaca” sound familiar? The term brought down a Presidential candidate in the last cycle. “Maccaca”, used to reference a young, pestering campaign stalker, or “Pig” to reference a female candidate for Vice President. Hmmmmm. I wonder which is considered worse by the thinking electorate?
Didn’t the pig muslim start all this by attacking Palin with his media whores and sending 30 rat atorneys to Alaska lookignfor dirt? The great uniter ? They started this and now he is the victim- PLEASE ! Mccain needs to come and say The Pig Muslim started all this and needs to apologize.
Create enough of a stink about it to get Obama to address it today. It eats up another day of the news cycle and gives Obama the last word, which, in this case, is a good thing.
He looked petty.
Nope Palin could, and should respond to this with a joke and make Obama look even more like an idiot
In the process that would spin 0bama up like a top and provide more ammo for his self-destruction.
ON the other hand, it sure would be funny if thousands of women at Palin rallies spontaneously started showing up wearing pig nose masks as a way to shame the Obama camp and turn this into an ongoing ridicule of Obama!
I don’t think McCain or Palin need to mention it again, but we can sure drill the daylights out of that clown for it! All the media is just playing the “Pig & Lipstick” part. They aren’t showing the whole video with the “stinky fish” part afterwards. Once everyone sees that (and Obama’s snobby reply) it makes it crystal clear just what an arrogant little man he is.
MAKE SURE TO DOUBLE CHECK YOUTUBE LINKS BEFORE SENDING THEM OUT - SOME OF THE OBAMA PIG & FISH VIDEOS HAVE BEEN REMOVED FROM YOUTUBE!!!

I still that that Todd Palin taking a microphone and saying something to Obama about his offense would be more effective than anything.
Agree.
I guess. I really don’t know what’s the best approach, I think because I don’t understand the people McCain’s trying to impress.
