What is it with these third party spoilers that always take net votes from Republicans?

Sorry Paul. I can’t see myself hanging with guys who wear pink tutus to disrupt the GOP convention but are too cowardly to do it at the ‘RAT convention where they would have fit right in.

Before the Saddleback Forum and Palin, I would have voted for Paul.

I supported and voted for Paul in the primary. He said all along that if he lost the primaries that he would NOT go third party. Now it appears as if his thirst for attention is just too much for him to overcome.

Such a shame. He is so strong on so many issues but he really is going off the deep end and becoming a parody of himself. I would still have respect for the man if he continued to do what he advocated all along - change the party from within. Attention whore extraordinaire.

“What is it with these third party spoilers that always take net votes from Republicans?”

BINGO!

This is probably the only reason would even acknowledge Paul’s existance.

Paul, a Republican who abandoned his White House bid earlier this year, is gathering some of the candidates, independent Ralph Nader among them, on Wednesday to make his plea.

So Ron Paul hangs out with Ralph Nader?

Just curious. What were you going to vote for him as? He isn’t running for anything. His job is just to disrupt. I remember another Texan that tried to help us by voting for a third party.

It's always been that way, they just don't see it. It is a vote of conscience or principle, however it is allowing what they admit as being worse (this year Obama) to win. But it does not matter to them.

Registered Dems outnumber registered GOP'ers, always have. The big tent has to be there to gain a sufficient number of votes for a plurality to win a national election. Otherwise it is a ONE Party system

Ron Paul says to support third parties, but Paul truly remains a registered Republican. Paul also won’t endorse either Bob Barr or Chuck Baldwin for POTUS because Paul is good friends with both ‘08 minor party POTUS candidates.

I can’t support Ron Paul. My wife won’t let me hang the bedsheets from an overpass.

Third parties come in third if they are lucky and few people remember what point they failed to make.

You’d have to be a complete moron to vote for these spoilers. They can’t possibly win. It’s only a wasted “protest” vote that has, in the past, allowed at least one liberal president, Slick Willy, to win. Are their pot and porn addictions so strong that they’d let a Marxist win?

How can a ‘third party spoiler’ take net votes from a viable republican candidate?

If the republican party would put up candidates other that the corporate socialist big government open border types going for a population of 500 million in the US in ten years, they wouldn’t have to worry about any other candidates from any party.

Relax. Ron Paul isn't the first MD with a fricking messiah complex of his own. It's bred into them in medical school as a way of coping with the fact that doctors kill nearly as many patients as they save.
