Obama poked fun of McCain and Palin's new "change" mantra.
"You can put lipstick on a pig," he said as the crowd cheered. "It's still a pig."
"You can wrap an old fish in a piece of paper called change. It's still gonna stink."
"We've had enough of the same old thing."
The crowd apparently took the "lipstick" line as a reference to Palin, who described the difference between a hockey mom and a pit bull in a single word: "lipstick."
Obambi channeled Dukakis (1988) talking about the Reagan / Bush administration: “A fish rots from the head down”.

My reply didn't read right......I meant that it would almost be worth it, if you could really get to see your relatives.
OTOH, our passed relatives would give us heck for even allowing someone like Obama to get this close to the White House.

But yeah - this is war now. The dems and the media have gone too far. Way too far. Maybe they thought we were sleeping because we haven’t (until now) been as protective of the republican ticket as we were in 2000 and 2004.

LOL. He was using the old saying of course, but given Palin’s joke at the convention, this is going to play like an intentional insult, no matter how he really meant it. If this was scripted, then he needs to fire someone for not considering context. If this was an ad lib, then I hear-by proclaim him the Gaffe-master General.
