Amie Parnes reports from Lebanon, VA:
Obama poked fun of McCain and Palin's new "change" mantra.
"You can put lipstick on a pig," he said as the crowd cheered. "It's still a pig."
"You can wrap an old fish in a piece of paper called change. It's still gonna stink."
"We've had enough of the same old thing."
The crowd apparently took the "lipstick" line as a reference to Palin, who described the difference between a hockey mom and a pit bull in a single word: "lipstick."
The Dems are going the way of the Whigs
I wouldn't count 'em out just yet. They're as entrenched as any other national institution.
Sure, they're floundering right now, and there's an internal war heating up in their camp, but I expect to see a changed Democrat party in the years to come. One that has moved itself more the the center.
The old dog Democrats understand that they're losing elections because they've allowed the hard left in their party to take the helm and steer the direction. That's going to change.
And that's a "change we can believe in."
Actually, upon further review, there has been a reversal. I retract anything I said that can be construed as Obama being a Christian in the true sense of the word. I just got up to pages 130-132 in Corsi's Obama Nation book.
I had no idea how far somebody would take a charade to appear to be "normal" in order to advance a stealth Socialist agenda.
I should have known better. Sorry.
I had already seen that and found it very moving. It also showed me how intelligent many of our military are today. He spoke eloquently.
THANKS for the ping.
You know, it’s funny, but it’s not (if you know what I mean).
If I were Obama, I’d be pretty unnerved at the comparisons. No Christian would ever feel remotely comfortable with any of this.
What I’m seeing though is how easily it WILL be when the real antichrist comes on the scene. These lefties and loonies have no anchor at all and, as the Scriptures say, they blow this way and that. Their adoration of Obama shows me that they are going to be very easily swayed.
He IS a cartoon.
