Jeremiah Wright, the firebrand pastor and former intimate of Barack Obama - the pair fell out when footage of Wright emerged damning America - is in the news again. On the front page of today's New York Post, he is accused of having an affair with one Elizabeth Payne, (pictured), a 37-year-old church worker, who has told this was the reason for the eventual breakdown of her marriage.
Payne claims she and Wright, who christened Obama's children and presided over his marriage to Michelle, began their relationship while he was an executive assistant at a Dallas church headed by one of Wright's proteges. When their relationship became known, her husband decided to terminate their marriage.
Payne, who refuses to reveal when the adulterous affair started or how she met Wright, says: "It's all true. I was involved with Rev."
However, Payne's husband, Fred Payne ... says he learned of the affair in late February when he discovered emails between his wife and Wright. "There must have been about 80 of them, back and forth," he said. "Wright said things like he was ggouing to leave his wife for Elizabeth."

Dems would not be saying that this was “private” (between his wife, his congregation, etc) if it were McCain’s ex-pastor.
Touche.
The path that you espouse ... how does it teach Dems and the media a lesson concerning how they treat Republicans?
What is important is the anti-American hatred that Wright spewed from his pulpit for 20 years while Barack claimed he had no idea of Wright's positions and beliefs.
That’s what I thought. The middle of the picture looks funny. OTOH, she could be Hispanic and have that look. But there is still too much light in the center of the picture.
Just sex? Bedroom biz? A private matter between consenting adults?
Nope. Brings Jeremiah Wright and all he’s said and stands for and all his associations back into the news.
Reminding “G.D.” America who his is. Who O is.
J.W. The gift that keeps on giving.
Did Obama possess the good judgment to not be led astray by Wright or even take him as his pastor, mentor, spiritual advisor etc, in the first place?
Or could it be that Wright’s congregants (including Barack Obama) knew that Wright was a nutcase, a jerk and a racist - but just didn’t care?
Could it be? Just wondering...
No one is surprised about this about Wright, surely - if it is true.
I’m much more concerned that the Democrats almost stuck us with the up and comer, John Edwards, not once, but twice. We only dodged that bullet by the grace of God.
Just sex? Just something between consenting adults?
No. It brings JW back into the news and brings all he said, stands for and who associates with him and who he associates with back into the news.
Just read post #49 by StAntKnee.
Hits the nail right on the head.
Obama needs to be asked about this, it almost doesn’t matter what the question is, he’ll probably say something stupid anytime he’s taken off of his talking points.
According to two sources, Winfrey was never comfortable with the tone of Wright’s more incendiary sermons, which she knew had the power to damage her standing as America’s favorite daytime talk-show host. “Oprah is a businesswoman, first and foremost,” said one longtime friend, who requested anonymity when discussing Winfrey’s personal sentiments. “She’s always been aware that her audience is very mainstream, and doing anything to offend them just wouldn’t be smart. She’s been around black churches all her life, so Reverend Wright’s anger-filled message didn’t surprise her. But it just wasn’t what she was looking for in a church.” Oprah’s decision to distance herself came as a surprise to Wright, who told Christianity Today in 2002 that when he would “run into her socially she would say, ‘Here’s my pastor!’ “

This is bad news for Palin’s pastor. The media will be going over every scrap of information about him with a fine tooth comb.
Dems are creeps. We are not.
Hope Mr. Payne keeps talking. I’d like to know time span of affair. Mr. Payne said he found e-mails in Feb. 08, but were they recent e-mails? If so, this would have been the time that Rev. Wright talk was going into high gear, right? Was it March or April when Obama threw Wright under the bus?
So Nobama hung around with felons and crooks and terrorists and imorral unethical losers when he ws organizing communities, so what.
She’s 17 years younger, not 27. That’s still quite a big gap.
