One Potential Problem. re: Palin.

OK, I'm a conservative who is very excited about Sarah Palin.

But, I have noticed over the past couple of days that Gov. Palin keeps using the EXACT same lines and phrases on the campaign trail that she used so effectively in her convention speech last week.

This is not good.

It is making her seem like a one-trick pony and it WILL be noticed by all very soon if she doesn't change up her rhetoric or at least preface such convention quotes with something like "as I have stated before..."

The convention just got over with. They are visiting several cities and they are reinforcing their convention message. They do change some of the language a bit but they are hitting the main points of their speeches at the convention. All candidates do this. When they take a break they will probably get some new material. Or the media will keep playing the most familiar sound bites to drive you crazy.

All politicians have a standard stump speech.

Sarah Palin is no different.

Relax.

Everyone gives essentially the same stump speech every day. Palin is just getting so much attention you are noticing this.

All the pols repeat the cheesy lines over and over.....

How many times did you hear Al Gore prattle about “blowing a hole in the deficit” or talk about the “Fuzzy math” in 2000?

Or Clinton say “I feel your pain”

The reason we notice it more with Palin in because we don’t have anything else in our heads to associate her with. There is no history. No huge track record of other national interviews. And we want her to talk more right here, right now so we can satisfy our own curiousity about her.

The biography and thought patterns will fill in over time.

I see what you are saying, but Palin is keenly aware of today’s day and age of the soundbite. I think that is why it would appear that she is using the same “lines” over and over.

I don’t understand how this could discredit her, or lead to the opinion of being a “one-trick” pony though. What she is giving at these rallies are stump speeches, and they are invariably going to be similar if not almost identical in various places... Same with Obama, McCain, Biden, and many, many other politicians no matter what party they belong to.

It’s called staying on message and the message is working. Counter attack on Bridge to Nowhere will be incorporated forthwith. Obama and Biden both supported it after Tom Coburn offered an amendment to send that money to Katrina victims. Yuck, yuck!

Oh come on.

How many times have you heard the (exact) words:

“Change we can believe in”.

Seriously. Relax. She’s doing fine.

With all due respect...nevermind.

Team McCain is running a brilliant campaign in this home stretch.

You are paranoid but that does not mean they are not after you.'->
It is called a stump speech. Stump speech - every politician uses them. It is an effective way to remember what you want to stress.
Reagan repeated his three or four things every speech rain or shine.
The difference here is that the media is all over her so you are hearing the same thing over and over.
Trust me Barry does this also but you will never hear it unless you personally go to his speeches because the MSM will cover only what makes him look good.
With Palin they will start point out the 25% she repeats not the other stuff.

"Am I paranoid "

You're paranoid. At least she's not flip-flopping, stuttering, or stealing speeches from someone else. It's common practice to continue to use key phrases on the campaign trail. It's called reinforcement. She's added new comments along the way, and interspersed them with some from her acceptance speech. She's doing just fine.

I, too, have noticed this. Before the Internet a candidate could use a standard stump speech. It wasn’t repetitious if you hadn’t heardit... Now with all the coverage shown on cable, YouTube, and the RNC and DNC web sites, a candidate needs to pay more attention and make sure there is a balance between the ‘favorites that work’ and new material. I think this a wonderful opportunity to outline some specifics of the platform and contrast them with failed liberal policies.

Am I paranoid or is this potentially a serious problem that will totally discredit her?

It's called a stump speech and it's SOP.

Is this the first time you've been paying attention during a presidential campaign ...

And do you know why you’re noticing? We’ve never been this excited about a national ticket that we are absorbing every word they say.

I kinda noticed that. Tey were talking a bit about that on the O’Reilly Show tonight.I geuss these politicians generally give the same speeches from town to town wherever they go. Of course back in the day you could get away with it I’m not so sure about now.

Don’t worry. She is just using what has worked. Leave the over analysis to Obama. I do believe they should start letting her smack Obama even harder.
