HILLARY Clinton may be the most obvious choice to throw into the ring against the new darling of American politics, Sarah Palin, but the failed Democratic presidential candidate is refusing the job.
"We're not going to be anybody's attack dog against Sarah Palin," a Clinton insider said yesterday.
It's an extraordinary act of hubris from a woman whose success in exposing Barack Obama's weakness in working-class Democratic states such as Pennsylvania, Ohio and Indiana may have been the reason that John McCain chose a gun-toting, God-loving mother of five as his running mate.
Although she is 60 and unlikely to have another shot at the White House, Clinton is apparently concerned that she would appear ungenerous to the Republicans' first female vice-presidential candidate if she were to go after her.

OK here’s a grotesque metaphor for you:
Hillary is down to her panties in the ultimate game of strip poker. Everything depends (no pun) on her ability to run again in 2012. Every move from now on will be carefully calculated with that goal in mind, she’s only got one more shot and will say and do whatever it takes to keep it.
OK everyone, get that image out of your heads, I dareya ;-)
How so?
Hahahaha... and I suppose the fact that she wants to see Palin and McCain *crush* Obama in Nov is only the icing on the cake.
Mrs. Clinton is many things, but she's not a suicide bomber.
I would not be surprised if Obama will promise her the Supreme Court if she does it.
Excellent comeback! ;o) We’ve got the Dims pegged!
The end of Hillary.
'Such thing as dreams are made of.'
Why get nasty now? Showdown is 2012, she’s just keeping her powder dry.

Obamas been left twisting in the wind L0L
Obama picked the wrong person to screw over. I was hoping this was going to happen.
I think the opinions given are valid but IMO it is way more than that. The Dimwits haven’t a clue about how to deal with Governor Sarah and apparently haven’t a clue about how to “manage” Hillary either. Fellow senators chose sides - I would not want to be sitting next to her in the Senate had I openly supported BO over her. On the other hand, if our VP candidate were a male I don’t think she’d hesitate for a minute. A female - especially a conservative white one - taking down BO has to be the most humorous thing she has ever witnessed.
Hillary, being a true rat — has already jumped from the sinking ship of Obama...
Obama has never fully understood the part of politics that involves making friends and developing relationships. Somehow, he grew up concluding that whatever he wanted to do, he could just do it, and people would help him do it, just because.
Everyone is an asset to him, not really a friend.
Hillary doesn’t owe Obama a damned thing. Why on earth should she help him out now, after he shoved her out of his way and told her to get lost?
Then he suddenly gets into a panic and decides he needs her after all.
“Oh, gee, Hillary, I hope you didn’t take offense when Michelle said she wouldn’t let me touch you with a ten foot pole!”
Who’s to say McCain hasn’t already offered her a spot on the court. He could get her through confirmation easier that Obama. He may offer her some other high ranking position in the cabinet. Regardless, she has to be thinking about 12’ and her moves this year affecting that. She should have won the nomination but was out maneuvered in the caucuses.
> Why would Hillary!, the person who most benefits from an Obama loss, help him?
One reason would be so that she doesn’t have to face Sarah Palin in 2012. However, I’m thinking she has to first regain the reins of power in the DNC, to consolidate her position. And that means squashing Obama like a bug.
I don't know why anybody would think that. I mean, metal prices weren't as high back then but as I recall she gave Vince Foster and Ron Brown each nearly an ounce of lead just because they asked for it.
Hillary is smart. She knows that if Obama & crew get in she will be shut out for good. She could run a good race in 2012. but not if Obama is an incumbent. She is doing the smart thing by saying ‘thanks but no thanks’
