CHICAGO - Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama held his daughters' hands when he escorted them to their first day of school.
The girls arrived at the University of Chicago Laboratory Schools Monday in a five-SUV motorcade after a short drive from their South Side home.

Every faculty member or high-level employee at the U of C sends their kids there.
When I attended the U of C there were some interesting situations where U of C freshmen dated Lab School seniors who were daughters of the freshmen's professors.
It's a very high quality, very weird incestuous little school.

Oh, boy - Salli Richardson went there too
My mom took me to school the first day.
I took my 3 on their first day.
So, where's mommy??
and somehow his “brothers” fail to see the irony in all of that.
I heard on the radio today that the tuition at that school is 20K/year. But no, hes not an elitist.
:::::::::::
And how would this fraud pay for such tuition on a senator’s salary? Oh, I forgot. The Tony Resco trust fund for kids education.....
The Lab School was founded on the principles of hands-on learning and exploration by American educator John Dewey in 1896 in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Chicago. The school began as a progressive institution that goes from nursery school through 12th grade. It is affiliated with the University of Chicago, and about half the students have a parent who is an employee of the university (and thereby receive a discount off the full tuition, normally as much as $20,000 per year).[1] It is considered one of the top preparatory schools in the United States, reflected in the Wall Street Journal’s findings that the school is amongst the top five feeder institutions in the nation for elite colleges.
Just your average elementary school for the average Obamas. Yep, they are so like the rest of us (blech!)
Were his kids in a private school last year? The year before? Why isn’t a public school good enough for his children?
Why the hell aren’t they at home with their mother? For that matter, why the hell isn’t their mother at home?
All of the media attacks on Palin we’ve witnessed are premised on the belief that a woman’s place is in the home; barefoot and recovering from the latest abortion.
How exactly does this fit in with the- we’re just like you “common man” - theme? Middle class? ROFLMAO!
Amazing. I guess they also fail to see Obama’s bro living on a buck a month as an odd thing, considering Barack says he will take care of his brothers.
A $24.00 donation to his brother in the hut would help his bro take it easy for two years. LOL
“Wall Street Journal’s findings that the school is amongst the top five feeder institutions in the nation for elite colleges.”
Oh but Obama is not an elitist....cough cough
Guess the kids are too important to be left to walk to school.
5 SUV’s to take 2 little girls a few blocks. Must be a bad neighborhood.
Well, the bus is out of commission. The suspension is all out of whack from all the people Obama has thrown under it.
Meeks leads 1,400 to New Trier 'VERY SELFISH' | Meeks leads 1,400 to New Trier -- Daley not happy
Obama has failed to improve the schools in Chicago, just as he failed to improved Chicago housing.
Times two—that is $40K a year unless Obama or Michelle, is an employee of the the University of Chicago.
A Democratic machine in Chicago? Don’t be naive

ST. PAUL A Tribune news bulletin of great importance flashed on my electronic slave collar (elitists would call it a BlackBerry) at the Republican National Convention:
There is no Chicago Democratic machine. Mayor Richard Daley says so.
If this is indeed true, and no sane man would ever doubt the mayor, then I might as well kill the stupid idea of writing a Barack O’Bama column.
“I don’t know where they get this, I mean, this idea that there is a big Democratic machine going on,” the mayor told reporters last week.
And he didn’t mean there was a little Democratic machine, either. Machine? What machine?....

Well, on the surface of it and in the spirit of being willing to try to take the high road, it’s nice he’s taking the girls to school.
However, everything is so cynical when it involves a liberal. Everything is about image and the latest poll of the day. - It appears to me that Mr. “O” has seen the need to project himself as just as good a parent as Sarah Palin. Tsk. Tsk. If so, it’s sad he’s having to attempt to make a cheap imitation out of himself to try to morph himself into Sarah. *Note to Barack: Why would people want a cheap imitation when they can have the REAL THING? . and, too, it’s pathetic to see you, the Democrat candidate for POTUS, running against the Vice Presidential candidate of the other side.
OH! What a tangled web we weave when once we practice to deceive!
Just because you put your kids in a top ranked school that costs more than 90% of Americans can afford and you drop your daughter off with a five SUV convoy doesn’t mean that you’re an elitist!
Too bad the government can’t give school vouchers so others in Obama’s Black community could send their kids to this fine school instead of their failing neighborhood public school. Note Sarah Palin’s kids DO go to public schools. Hypocrisy at its finest.
the SUVs are Secret Service, and will be with him till the election. If he loses, which I anticipate, he may well have SS protection for a while after the election. If he wins, well, let’s not even go there.
