CHICAGO - Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama held his daughters' hands when he escorted them to their first day of school.
The girls arrived at the University of Chicago Laboratory Schools Monday in a five-SUV motorcade after a short drive from their South Side home.

Public or private school?
I bet they were pimped ot with 22 inch rims and stuff
What is a Laboratory school? Is this a public school?
I heard on the radio today that the tuition at that school is 20K/year. But no, he’s not an elitist.
A public school?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!
Oh my sides.
Shame on him for using his daughters for political purposes....oh wait, he’s a Lib, it’s ok, never mind.
Five SUVs to take his kids to school. Call him carbon Bigfoot.
“University of Chicago Laboratory School”. I dare say this is not your typical Chicago public school, yet Obama is vehemently against school vouchers.
What was the carbon footprint of that motorcade?
Nice to see The Obamassiah following his advice to conserve.
I do hope they checked the air pressure in all the tires.
It is insane. But what about our wonderful public schools? Are the teachers in the union? I wonder if they can teach the kids to spell TOAST>
The Clintons pioneered this philosophy shamelessy sending Chels to private school in DC while crusading against vouchers.
Vouchers would allow the common people to make the same choices that the elite can make.
If you look at every policy of the left, this is what it boils down to -
they don’t want you to be able to have the same choices that they do.
(Gore’s “carbon offsets” as his excuse for using so much energy while telling us to cut back.)
Chicago Lab school is one of the top private schools in Chicago. Tuition is $20k.
“Although vastly outnumbered by the area’s public high schools, Chicago’s private high schools figure prominently in the history and development of the city and suburbs. West Chicago’s Wheaton Academy, first established (by abolitionists) as the Illinois Institute, has been around since 1853. Chicago’s first public high school wouldn’t open until 1856, at Halsted and Monroe streets. St. Patrick, the city’s oldest Catholic high school, came along a year later, setting up shop at Adams and Desplaines streets. And some of the country’s most forward-looking educatorssuch as Francis W. Parker and John Deweyfound in Chicago the ideal laboratory in which to test and implement their innovative ideas.
As demonstrated by the accompanying chartwhere readers will find listed Wheaton Academy, St. Pat’s, Francis Parker, and Dewey’s University of Chicago Lab Schoolsthat local tradition of private high schools still thrives today.”

One of my best friends attended the Lab School 50 years ago.
It seemed like a great place (back then) from what she said.
Is this true? You mean his kids get an expensive education and ballet lessons.
But hey, those lousy public schools are okay for his brothers.
The other week Barry said he was tired of all the arguments for school vouchers.
Now we can see why!
