Didn’t Bill Clinton make some kind of a compromise on taxes and say we were all going to get a tax cut when he became President?

“Hard as I tried....”

Suggesting that the Republicans are right. That taxes are bad for the economy.

I wouldn’t put this as a negative for Bill. He decided to do the responsible thing and deal with the deficit. The size of government shrunk under him (barring even the peacetime dividend from military reductions) whereas bush has increased it more than most presidents of the last century.

Bill had a lot of problems, but on fiscal issues, he was pretty conservative.

Obama is an empty-suit fraud.

Hey you moron, if it hurts the economy in a recession it hurts the economy when we are not in a recession as well...

When you hurt the economy you damage peoples lives while at the same time damaging federal tax revenues.

You can’t have it both ways.

Obama is a community organizer and Michelle is finally proud to be an American, though that pride is a fragile thing and could evaporate overnight if We The People don't honor Obama's messiah status and elect him president.

BS. The deficit when he "realized" that he had to raise taxes instead of giving the promised middle-class tax cut was SMALLER than the deficit projections he was using when he promised those tax cuts.

The election of a Republican House and Senate in 1994 was what produced fiscal responsibility. Clinton “triangulated” by letting the Republicans lead and then taking credit for the result. You can be very sure if the Republican plan had failed that Clinton would have had nothing to do with it after the fact.

Not until the GOP congressional takeover in 1994. The GOP congress cut up his credit card and forced him to accept slower growth in the rate of spending.

Believe not a word this communist says. They are realizing that they have come too far out in the open. They thought it was time to bring the true democrat philosophy of marxism out of the closet. WRONG. They will now try to get back to incrementalism. Say anything to get a vote the cram communism down our throats.

Yep, and they called the Sarah Palin pick a hail mary. Now you have Obama flipping on Bush's tax cuts after spending his whole convention ripping McCain for supporting them. Obama'c campaign is in shambles.

Nevertheless, Obama has no plans to extend the Bush tax cuts beyond their expiration date, as Republican John McCain advocates. Instead, Obama wants to push for his promised tax cuts for the middle class, he said in a broadcast interview aired Sunday.
“Even if we’re still in a recession, I’m going to go through with my tax cuts,” Obama said. “That’s my priority

Does this mean he was for the tax cuts before he was against them?

That would be a great question for her: “Michelle, in the event that your husband loses the election, would you still be proud of America?” My guess is that she would pause and hesititate before realizing that she has to answer “yes.”
