Damn. It's too early for this. I remember Kerry making Bush look like a fool in those debates. I also remember in 2000 the GOP getting schooled in the ground game.

This is not over. The 4th quarter just started. We tied the game at the end of the third. The refs (media) are also on their side. I'm waiting for "5th downs", phantom holdings, dumb penalties, and mistakes. Most importantly, we can not play PREVENT (from winning) defense.

All of us need to be signed up to work the polls, as poll watchers, poll challengers, on the legal team if you are a lawyer, work the elections if they need help there (most need a balance of R's and D's). Call your local and state Republican parties and volunteer for that.

We need to make sure they don't cheat. We can not control what McCain does, but we can control what we can do. I'll be voting absentee and working the elections. I hope you are all doing so as well.

re: McCain not being on TX ballot. That is false from what I have read. TX officials said on Friday I believe that they had found the applications and everything was OK.

I think you’re right about riots - hubby and I were discussing this the other day. It could get very ugly.

The guy on CNN tonight said 14% of the people are totally undecided in this race, no mention of any polls. Sixty days is forever in politics. The downs and ups are extreme. Been following since Ike so I know rough times are still ahead.

But as someone else said earlier, for tonite I feel good. Our convention was really good folks. Fun and productive.

It’s not a USA Today poll. They simply sponsor it and I believe it was in recent years. This is the standard bearer Gallup as opposed to their more recent tracking poll creation.

>So now they’ll launch all torpedoes against the Sarah-cuda!

They already did. they shot their load on day 2. Even if it comes out that Sara had Elvis’ two headed alien love child, it won’t matter. They went waaaayyy over the top. She’s immune now.

Bambi needs to concentrate on McCain (remember him?). The more he squeals about getting bullied by Sarah, the wimpier and less Presidential he looks.

actually rush predicted this and then said watch them dwindle and they will all say how mccain is losing momentium and people are changing their minds. Tis a way to manipulate the public opinion.

"Methinks the tingling in Matthew’s leg has turned into a choking in his throat."

Actual quote from a PUMA on HillaryClintonForum.net during Sarah's speech on Wednesday:

"I think the tingling down Matthews' leg is actually his cr__ping in his pants!"

It's the USAToday/Gallup poll. And it's not the one everyone loves to cite. The title of the thread was misleading.

Gallup Daily: Obama’s Edge Shrinks to 2 Points

Gallup Daily: Obama 49%, McCain 43% (McCain/Palin gain 2% since yesterday)

Gallup Daily: Obama-Biden Ticket Leads by 6 Points

Gallup Daily: Obama Continues to Lead 49% to 41% (Bump stops cold - 8/30/08)

Gallup Daily: Obama Moves Ahead, 48% to 42%

More here

If you're still not convinced I can't help you. I'm through wasting my time pointing out the obvious.

McCain is now leading in the RCP Average: McCain: 46.7 vs. Obama 45.7 — this is basically dead heat, but still, what a difference.

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2008/president/us/general_election_mccain_vs_obama-225.html

They also show Intrade oddes: Obam 56% vs. McCain 44% — McCain used to be under 40, then got to 40 and now he seems to have an upward momentum.

I hope and expect this to continue, now that people see the character, integrity and experience of the McCain/Palin ticket, vs the Obamemperor with no clothes.

What’s this? The optimistic and humor-full campaign is now beating down the pessimistic and cynical campaign?

Two democratic US Senators, who are part of the democratic, do-nothing Congress are suddenly having a hard time promoting the idea that they can do-something for America?

How ironic.

Yes ACORN and other activists are planning a lot of fraud. Ohio will have same-day registration (madness!) which will lead to far too many challenges to fight. It’s pretty easy to bus people around to vote over and over.
