Texas is in the bag for M/P,

Yeah, except that M/P apparently won't be on the Texas ballot.

McCain should be up +5 instead of +1 on RCP. What the heck is the Diego/FD poll. Never heard of it.

Regardless good trends everywhere. Wait until the next round of state polls.

McCain will be up 3-4 in Ohio. Probably with the MOE in MI and PA.

Rasmussen uses a rolling 90 day average of self-reports. The self-report makes sense to me. He asks people what they consider themselves to be, Pub, Dem, or Indie. I can't think of a better way. It's certainly much better than those pollsters who just "assume" a ratio.

The 90 day rolling average means that he balances the current with the past. That also seems reasonable to me.

It might be true that folks are currently more excited about the Repub ticket, but we don't know what they'll be thinking on Nov 4, 2008. If we accept that they fluctuate, and then find a way to average it all out, then we'll have a less dynamic ratio, but it'll be a more conservative one.

I have to admit, though, that I prefer to worst-case things like elections. It's not that I can't be positive. It's just that I like to be prepared for when the sh__ hits the fan. :>)

It has been over for while and the official results will be on November 4 2008 when McCain beats Obama with a 52 to 47 final result.

Rasmussen is excellent, but I think that his Republican / Democrat ratio is significantly lagging recent events. He’s using something like an 8-point gap, and that no longer reflects reality on the ground

Yep.

Keep fighting FReepers!!! Don’t let up!!!

Approach this as a military campaign: No stopping until the enemy is completely obliterated.

Approach this as a football game: We’re winning big in the 4th quarter, but we keep on blitzing their QB.

Approach this as an MMA fight: We just knocked out our opponent, now let’s jump on ‘em and pound some more until the ref pulls us off!!!

We all need to keep seeing red. Keep blasting away. Keep marching forward. We don’t stop until the votes are all counted and we have President-Elect McCain and Vice President-Elect Sarah(cuda) Palin!!!

Keep fighting the good fight, my FRiends!!!!

Actually this is the Gallup poll that everyone used to cite. It only occurs every few weeks. These rolling daily tracking polls are recent creations.

And of course November is the one that counts but this gives us a boost of much needed energy for our side. Now we can see victory. We just need to finish the work we are already doing.

What’s the normal bounce after a convention.

I know Obama did not get his bounce like everyone thought, but what is the typical bounce?

The only thing that can save the Dems now is Joe-mentum!

I think that instead perhaps Senator "Coke-Head" Obama should be looking at replacing Senator "Logorrhea" Biden with Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney in the Vice Presidential slot.

However, I think it would be almost as grand to replace Senator Biden with Representative Dennis Kucinich. That would solidify his support in a portion of the voting public that usually is roundly ignored by both major parties.

Watch the MSM hype the economy and unemployment numbers etc etc plus Social security problems

McCain better start blaming the problem on the high cost of energy due to the democrats stalling drilling nuke plants etc etc

Oh, they could do that. Replace Obama with Hillary, for instance.

But there are severe repercussions. Cities will burn and riot. The dems will lose a very important constituency. Even if they could get Obama to agree to step down and tell his followers to support the new nominee, hundreds of thousands would still say “the man” took it from them once more.

So they're stuck with Obama until November 4th. The empire strikes back after that.

I will be watching FNC on Election Night, but TIVO’ing MSDNC so I can have a digital record of Olbermann, Matthews and the Maddow dude have a big cryfest and to see the looks on their faces.

I’m also going to make DVD copies and make a fortune selling them on eBay.

Isn’t capitalism great?

Obama’s not a leader, just a teleprompter reader.

If Baghdad Bob had only survived the war, I’m sure he would’ve wanted to work for Barack Unabama.

You mean he didn’t? Okay, now I’m really sad.

Seriously guys, this is great news. Let’s stay focused with our eyes on the goal. The next few weeks are going to be very tough for our side and they will need our support.

It has now made ABC news web page that Palin’s eyeglasses are a hot item and the manufacturer is inundated with orders.

If the election were held tomorrow, it would be a McCain landslide.

I found two fraudulent videos on Youtube about McCain’s role in the infamous USS Forrestal fire.

The USAToday poll is not the one everyone loves to cite.

But you're entitled to your opinion.

TOMORROW I promise we’ll get back to WORK...RIGHT FOLKS?!!

My productivity at work may be off a tad during the next 60 or so days as I check the threads on F/R about 10 times a day. (I can quit at any time! Really! I'm not addicted!)
