Barack Obama has said he considered joining the United States military when he left school but decided not to because the Vietnam war was over and "we weren't engaged in an active military conflict at that point".

Impossible. He was 12 years old when “End of hostilities” was declared
SO, he didn’t join the armed forces, and went on to college to become highly proficient in Bovine Scatology. They’ll make up anything to fit a situation.
By the time he was eligible to enlist the war had been over for about for about 7 years. He was about 11 years old when the war officially ended.
So for this to be anywhere near accurate he has to be counting the whimsical musings of a child in order for him to say that he ‘considered’ it at all.
The BS meter goes off the scale on this one!
People wonder why this election is close...I wonder the same thing...why is Obama NOT getting destroyed...it amazes me that any critical thinker would vote for him...
BTW, I'm convinced his really an idiot...I mean unless it's scripted his a gaffe a minute...
If you had to sign for the selective service at 18, this in his “mind” thinking of joining the military. We all had to do that and was required by law. I need to change my resume and run for office for the dems!
You forgot to mention he believes America has 57 states.
Are they sure it was the US ARMY he claimed to be interested in joining?
On Drudge it refers to this as “a fact not mentioned in either of his memoirs”. It should read “a claim...” or “a bald faced lie” but NOT “a fact”.
Barbara Streisand!!!!
It’s true, I tell ya! It all started in 1975...
Barry was much younger then.
A young man charged up with patriotic fervor, Barry tried to join the elite Navy SEALS. He already pre-qualified so they told him he wouldn’t have to pass BUD/S. He was all set to go, too — then the Rangers called and offered him a spot...
...not to be outdone, the 101 Airborne — the legendary Screaming Eagles — offered to send him to jump school. And the Blue Angels came calling, too. The Marines thought about it, and so did West Point: but he was overqualified and they said so.
Decisions, decisions, decisions. The problem was, he was spoiled for choice. Flying jets sounded like fun, but Barry wanted to get his hands dirty and kill some of America’s baddest enemies. That left the Rangers, maybe the Airborne, perhaps the SEALS...
Delta Force wouldn’t hear of it — they upped the ante and offered to train Barry with the NZ SAS. Now that’s more like it!
There was one big problem, tho’, and it proved Fatal to Barry’s dream of serving his Country as an elite soldier. You guessed it: RACISM.
The Audacity of Hope — SHATTERED. “I’m sorry, Barry” said General Westmoreland himself. We’d sure like to have you in Vietnam with Delta Force, but there’s a problem. I think you know what it is.”
“My Citizenship?” Barry asked hopefully. “I can fake..err...explain all that...”
“No Barry. Not your Citizenship. You know what it is, I think. And besides, the war is nearly over, and I don’t want your good name sullied by being on the losing side.”
Sadly, once the Delta Force withdrew their offer, all the other opportunities dried up. Even the Marines!
“I’ve been black-balled!” he exclaimed to his Pastor.
“There, there Barry. Nothing propinks like propinquity. The brutha’s all understand. And besides, this is 1974 and you’re fourteen years old: you’ve got practically all your life ahead of you. Why not, one day, become the Commander-in-Chief? That’ll show ‘em!”
“But it is so UNFAIR! Until I can make things right for persons of all colors, I will not be able to salute our flag with any good conscience. But one day I’ll show ‘em! One day...”
You see, once again Barry had the Audacity to Hope. And the rest is, as you know, History...
You know why? Because evil does not stand together. We will. We will band together no matter what. There are some great Americans here and other places. We will make a stand.
He is so off message.
Then why did he leave this information out of Obama, Volume I and Obama, Volume II?
You don’t suppose he’s lying again, do you?
I wanted to play drums for the Beatles or the Rolling Stones.
I wanted to win the Indy 500. Twice!
I wanted to start up Microsoft, eBay and Google.
I wanted to marry Kim Basinger.
I wonder why I didn’t do any of those things?
If only I had gone to Vietnam with Jon Francoise Carry, I cudda changed the world.
“I actually always thought of the military as an ennobling and, you know, honourable option”
Yeah obambi...me too! Shut up!
Lets see, Obambi was born in 1961. The Vietnam war ended in 1975 so Obambi would have been 15 years old when the war ended.
I guess he could have joined up when he was 12 years old and gotten in a couple good years of fighting. Too bad the Marines weren’t taking 12 year olds at the time.
I love it! I wish I had a poster of it.
Please excuse my math.
Considered? please, your once again insulting the men and women of the mlitary
