Hundreds of flags that were discarded by the DNC and headed to the trash were rescued and are being given out today at the McCain-Palin Rally in CO.
It is unclear as to how the flags were discovered, some were reportedly discovered by a vendor by a dumpster. The flags were stuffed into dozens of black garbage bags and others were crammed into a supply closet awaiting disposal...Developing details...

Palin scares me, but what worries me more is that we will screw up again and hand the executive office over to another gang of losers, and we can’t afford that anymore. Now look at the open thread http://scienceblogs.com/pharyngula/2008/09/palin_open_thread.php I set up last night, and you’ll see why I’m concerned. What did people do? They got distracted by irrelevancies, such as the opportunity to exercise a little macho sexism, and then that turned into a nasty, full-blown knife fight with everyone snarling at each other. This is exactly what the Republicans want, writ small on this little tiny island of the blogosphere.
That’s not how we’re going to beat back the troglodytes.
Palin is a stalking horse for failed social and economic and military policies. We don’t want to get drawn away from the important message of defeating those bad policies by the temptation of cheap shots at her appearance and sex, especially because those cheap shots make her look like a sympathetic victim and help advance the Republican agenda.
So please, think. Casual sexism plays into the hands of the bad guys on both sides. What frightens me most is that Palin got up and lied and said nothing of substance, and people are so distracted by the fact that she has breasts that the lies were allowed to slide by. This is how the Democrats can self-destruct, once again.

If McCain wins then Palin, sooner or later, is going to become the first woman president of the United States as by the time she’s up for election to the top spot there won’t be any question of lack of experience. You are basically looking at teh American Margaret Thatcher. Get used to her. She’s going to be in your face for the next 16 years. It’s all over except for the tears and anger from your side that you were f*cked yet again. Write that down.

Correct. DUers aren't too fond of democracy if it means that the people elect too many Republicans. When the President is a Republican, the "state" is in distress. The upside down flags that they fly are a protest against the will of the people.
Now its time to watch the Nittaly Lions play so I won't be monitoring the news channels so much.

I have been on here for years, posted 1000s of replies to other people's threads, but this is my very first thread...EVER!
I looked around and saw that this hadn't been posted [although, several threads about it has popped up now.] and thought, "Oh, shoot, this is really important, I guess I'll jump in and try to post it." LOL!
I'm embarrassed that I messed up my first time out the gate, but, really proud that my first thread was about our flag...something I love so dearly.
Obama can kiss Colorado good-bye. If this is getting national coverage, it is probably getting even more local coverage. (I hope)

Throughout our history, rescuing our flag has been the duty of countless of patriots. Rescuing our flag is what this election is all about. There are those that trash, disrespect and would toss our very country into the ash heap of history, were it not for our patriots.
There is a 5x8 flag atop my 30’ flag pole. I, like so many of you, would give my last drop of blood to defend what that flag stands for. God bless those that saved our flags from the armpit of the DNC.
I have little doubt that the libs will want to file theft charges.
