On Wednesday, I called Kim and invited myself over to watch Palin's acceptance speech. Their living room, after all, seemed like the closest I could get to the conservative base.
"We're energized," Scott said as we sat down to dinner before the speech. "Honestly, I might not have voted before this. But now I feel like it's 'game on.' The Democrats had an advantage in that Obama is a gifted speaker and incredibly appealing to his base. That was missing from our side. Now I at least feel like there's an equal playing field."
"Exactly," Kim said. "She reminds me of my grandmother, who worked on the farm and could hunt and grow food and raise kids and have two of them die and still go on. You don't see that in politics a lot, and you don't get it from going to Harvard, but that doesn't mean it's not valid."

Whats so very cool about it all, is that it happened for so many at that same time, most of us watched it together, and we all knew exactly what we were looking at and hearing and that collective SHIFT in perceptions of our future and our Party’s future and the future of the country was just awesome. I will remember this! I was too young for Reagan...
We all see and hear and get bombarded with “how evil conservativism is”..... its everywhere, its bound to get us down. The Network news, Sitcoms, newspapers, pundants, talking heads, the tabloid in the grocery store, the uber liberal teaching our kids in public schools we have no choice but to send our kids to to be indoctronated (even if subtly) by all that liberal nonsense..... Enough is enough. If we want to stop it we have to do something about it, electing Obama does NOT come to mind!
Go buy a yard sign from McCain.com and put it up. I don’t have a lot of money to spend, but I will fork out for that and a sticker! Hell ya! Do it with me.
They're going to keep searching through her past until they find something. If they can't find something soon, they're going to make something up (remember Dan Rather). They'll probably wait to spring that until it's too late to refute.
If neither of those plans pan out, they'll...
I'll bite my tongue at this point. But I fear for her safety.
I can’t really imagine anything they could find, or make up, that would make people turn their backs on Sarah, Sarah, Sarah!
The author of this article is mentally ill if she can only live in the fantasies of movies.
Are we supposed to extrapolate from this family's experience some sort of useful generalization? Beware, this is an old trick on the left. They exploit the man on the street interview to create a point of view among the viewership. This time it works in our favor but most times it is bent against us.
What contribution to anything does this drivel yield?
I don't know. But the author was sort of pretending that she was this tolerant person, and then she fantasizes that Palin has murdered her way to the top. Not only is that extremely cheap, but artless as well.
If this journalist wants to see how a skillful professional criticizes her opposition, she needs to view Palin's speech again. Palin mocks with good-natured humor, not with a disgusting, artless comparison to some monster of a woman in a movie. I suppose this poor excuse for a journalist thought she was being clever, funny, and witty. No, she wasn't being any of those thigs--only rude and artless.
The same contribution as an obscure little radio host named Rush Limbaugh; it validates many more of us thought this way than the MSM is willing to let on.

America never rejected conservatism. The Republican party did.
Chiseled in the stone on America’s grave.
Personally, I would like verification that this couple even exists. It’s quite possible she made the whole thing up.
They will try to find something (and possibly will) but the Pubs are learning. They will spring something about Obama, as well and you can bet that there are a lot better things out there regarding Obama than anything to be found on Sarah.
Can not be said too often! The Republican Party has come as close as possible to committing suicide, but has been given a new lease on life. Let's see what they do with it.
Good point, and thanks for pointing it out. We can't take it to the bank, though.
