LET'S VOTE! Whoever Obama's paying to help him appear to be a Christian, to win the Evangelical vote...is doing a terrible job. He should ask me for a few pointers. First of all, "obscure reference in Romans" is a dead give away that he's never cracked a Bible. "Evangelicals" love Romans. They have it practically memorized. -"obscure reference in Zephaniah" might have been more appropriate. And, Obama, when you say things like, "Sin is...being out of alignment with my values." That is a blaring siren of Biblical ignorance. The Bible says, "Sin is being out of alignment with God's values." That's like the number one lesson in every book of the Bible. You really need some help. Your statements are New Age, relativist, & humanist. Basically, they are textbook comments that go back to the first sin in the Garden of Eden, when the serpent lied and told Adam and Eve that they could be equal with God. (Read the book "When the World Will Be As One") "New Age" is the oldest false religion. It is a lie. And as for your "church" or Rev. Wright, Evangelicals think it's a sad cartoon. Obama, call me. It's leading theorist is James Cone who says Jesus was black, African-Americans are the chosen people, and whites are the devil. He pretends to be a Christian and he incriminates himself everytime he speaks about Christianity. To lie about being a believer in Christ is very dangerous. Lightning could strike him at any minute! But seriously, he doesn't have a clue what the Bible says and yet he pretends to be a church- going Christian to win votes. That is sooooo evil. In a 2004 interview with Cathleen Falsani for her book, Obama said, "...I believe there are many paths to the same place....and all people of faith - Christians, Jews, animists, everyone --- know the same God." This is not Christianity. It is universalism. Either Obama doesn't know John 14:6, "Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life; no man comes to the Father but by me," or he doesn't believe it. You can't be a Christian and not believe the Bible is the Word of God! Obama goes on to say he doesn't believe in hell, and he doesn't know what happens to him when he dies. One cannot deny the central tenets of the Christian faith and be a Christian (Christ-follower). Obama is a liar. I know my stance might keep me from LA jobs, since (almost) the whole town is liberal but, some time in a man's life, or a bleach blonde 49 year old woman's life, one must stand for what they believe in, and put truth before popularity. I pray that our country will have a revival, and that God will forgive us for our rejection of Him. He blessed our country because we worshipped Him. But, now our public places have kicked him out, and subsequently, (or coincidentally?), our nation is being attacked by our enemies. (By the way, the Bible says, "Love Your Enemies, Bless Them That Curse You." I was reading the other day in Leviticus 26:3-13, and Leviticus 26:14-25 and on, where God was warning the Israelites to obey him. In Lev. 26:14-16 it even says, "...if you despise my statutes...I will even appoint terror over you." I couldn't help but see a parallel to our country which was founded on the God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob. Just today I heard a quote from Obama where he was mocking the Old Testament (The 10 Commandments)and the Sermon on the Mount. I wouldn't want to be Obama on Judgement Day, but I especially don't want him to be the leader of my country. My country isn't the way it used to be when I grew up, and I miss it so much. I contribute this directly to a rapid decline in Bible teaching resulting in the break up of the family unit, the anchor of a society. It makes me sad, but I have hope because of God's unending forgiveness and his promise in II Chronicles 7:14, "If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and heal their land." "We must in all seriousness ask if Barack Hussein Obama could be a Muslim terrorist sympathizer or a Marxist mole. His closest friends include Communists, domestic and Muslim terrorists, racists and convicted felons. In his book Audacity of Hope, Barack Hussein Obama says, "I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction." "It is ironic and ominous that just 7 years after Islamic fundamentalist terrorists blew up the World Trade Center, that America may be about to elect a President with three Islamic names - Barack Hussein Obama - who has an Islamic education (in Indonesia), and strong Islamic ties and leanings." Victoria is better at Christian apologetics and Bible exposition than Rick Warren is, that’s for sure. Rick needs to figure out, as Victoria seems to have done, that the ultimate judge and rewarder of the faithful isn’t going to be the globaloney and celeb crowd.

I find that many Christians are almost shocked when I tell them the plain truth that socialism is based on three sins. Economist F. A. Hayek, in the Road to Serfdom predicted it also quickly leads to the use of the State to coerce people by the threat of deadly force, and as sure as the sun rises some citizens will get so upset that they will die during attempts by the police to arrest them for breaking a law that allows the State to seize their property.
In my book, it is just as much the spirit of murder to evoke the State police power to effect theft as it is if the “social activist” just seized the property in person. Why the spirit of murder? Because there is a predictable chain of escalation should the target of the law refuse to comply, a chain that leads to government use of deadly force, a chain **that would not be evoked** had the law not been in effect.
To propose that some social issue should be addressed by putting it within government power is to accept the possible consequences. Under totally different circumstances, we don't hesitate to hold gun owners responsible if a child were to find a firearm in a home that is not securely stored. We can easily see the chain of events. Had the gun owner taken “due care” in storage, the accident would have never happened.
Yet, we are so conflicted about how we use government power. We don't hesitate to assign some task to government, and we don't even give it a second thought that someone might refuse to comply, and we certainly don't want to consider what hell we will certainly put someone through when they steadfastly disagree with our good intentions.
It is one thing to define essential core functions of government, like say running the courts. What a monster we have today in comparison, and every single regulation we have allowed this monster to pass, we allow it to enforce by the threat of deadly force. No matter how trivial an item, we have said this item is so important that we are even willing to shoot our own mother rather than to allow her to not comply with the rule.
Like it or not, we would rather see our own grandmother dead than to allow her to sell a toilet that used too much water when it was flushed.
And socialists only want to feed the monster so it can grow even larger! And they only expect that this monster will bring about good things for everyone.

I know that inherently, socialism IS a lie, just saying that it can work is a lie. But, specifically, what is your direct assignment of “lies” to socialism? The other two broken commandments are obvious. So obvious that when explaining socialism (dhimmirat style) to my three year old, she asked “why doesn’t someone tell Obama about the 10 Commandments?” I’m so Proud... ooops, there’s another sin.
I’ve talked to many a lefty that REFUSES to get the concept of what you call “the spirit of murder” behind all laws. They don’t get that they are authorizing the government to kill me if I don’t comply with some pet policy of theirs.
“It doesn’t have to come to that!” - yeah, if I give in and comply to your will it doesn’t, but if I don’t, it does.
