The local news station said there were 30,000 there...

Some radio host by the name of Limbaugh said reported figures
for Palin/McCain appearance in Iowa today was something like
40,000...and that his staff was checking out the reported
number in the audience.

(OK, the radio host was Rush...as I heard on 1400AM in Columbia, MO
while grunting and sweating during a repair on my mole and crab-grass
ravaged lawn!!!)

Rush got the state correct (Wisconsin, not Iowa). Milwaukee’s Channel 4 reported a crowd between 20 & 30 thousand, which is probably where the number came from.

Wanna borrow my cat? Every day for the last week she has been waking me up in the morning with the sound of bones crunching as she sits under our bed and eats her daily mole catch.

You are correct. Rush reported 40,000.

By the way. McCain’s TV audience surpassed ZerObama’s last night. It was 38.9 million. ZerObama received 38.3 million from his Greek Temple. Cost for the DNC to move ZerObama’s coronation to Invesco Field, $6 million. Cost to put McCain’s speech on the Cat Walk: Cat feed for One Cool Cat.
