As I have looked at both an 0bama and a McCain victory respectively and each of their consequences...
You are apparently unfamiliar with the treachery of the enemy, either that nor you are one of them.
I am wholly convinced that there is as much treachery within the ranks of the liberal and moderate Republicans as there is within the ranks of the Democrats, and the nature of the Republican treachery is worse, as it masks itself in the guise of opposition to liberalism, when in fact, it is in collusion with it.
The left thinks nothing of changing rules or making law to suit their nefarious purpose. What makes you so sure their WILL be a next election as we have known them in the past? Suppose, JUST SUPPOSE you are wrong?
What makes you so sure that you will stop McCain from passing his amnesty and hopelessly tilting the table of the electorate in favor of the liberals with 30-50m spanking new Socialist Democrat voters?
The single most dangerous thing directly threatening your vote is John McCain's amnesty. They have already tried to pass it twice, then tried to pass it piecemeal, all against the very loudly expressed wishes of the American people. If it happens, the Republicans will never hold a house of federal government again, and will likely be removed from most state houses in a decade.
I'll tell you what. If you can convince me that there is a valid pro-American reason why Republican senators and a Republican administration would be sponsoring amnesty legislation that is sure to remove Republicans from power forever, I will vote for John "the Traitorous Bastard" McCain.
It is ludicrous to say McCain is for raising taxes because [...]
Tell me how he does cap n' trade global warming crap without taxes. Expect more environmental regulation too, which is more hidden taxation as well.
How does he pay for his socialist health care model without raising taxes?
How does he finance his new Union of Democratic Nations? Twinkies?
That said comparing the history and future policies of McCain and Obama leaves no doubt who between the 2 is the better choice
I will concede the point your boy is somewhat less socialist, and somewhat cheaper- Not that that has anything to do with anything. The problem here is that Republicans are supposed to OPPOSE socialism and spending, not be "less adept" at it. If they will not ~OPPOSE~ it, and promote Conservatism, they have no reason for existing.
And now with palin in the wings as his number 2 there is a real shot at our guys being the first to seat a woman in the WH. A race between Hillary and Palin would be classic, a true confrontation between Beauty and the Beast
It isn't about seating a woman in the Whitehouse. it is about seating a competent Conservative in the Whitehouse. These gimmicks are of little value.
You are another one issue (taxes) voter and seemingly dont want to look at the life issue or the security issue, both of which are strongly on the side of McCain.
LOL! Actually, FICON is probably my weakest suite. I am a Reagan Conservative with strong SOCON leanings. I seek to guard all three pillars of Conservatism.
McCain is not strong on Life- It is a specialty of mine, and he has always been little more than an opportunist. He alway votes all right on Pro-life issues, but also votes to fund Planned Parenthood, our arch-nemisis, attempted to silence us with McCain-Feingold, has often expressed his desire to remove the Pro-life plank, Has come out against Constitutional Amendment for life, is weak on Roe v. Wade, and has spoken out harshly against the Religious Right in general. And everyone knows he is for fetal stem cell research, creating a market for aborted human children. The Christians owe John McCain *no* support.
Just on McCain-Feingold, McCain-Kennedy and Guns, he is an impossible candidate for the libertarians, not to mention sovereignty issues like the Lost treaty, the NAU, the NAFTA highway, World Courts, all of which McCain will surely support.
As to Security, Again, I will vote for McCain if you can give me a reasonable explanation, from a national security standpoint, for leaving our Southern Border exposed and open to all comers, when it's security risks are not only evident, but proved to be a point of entry by multiple Arab groups entering our country.
As to being a one issue voter, that is an easy accusation to make, and is also a baseless one. Reasons to refuse McCain abound, and you probably well know that.
Ping to post 83!
“The single most dangerous thing directly threatening your vote is John McCain’s amnesty. They have already tried to pass it twice, then tried to pass it piecemeal, all against the very loudly expressed wishes of the American people. “
McCain says he will secure the border first....maybe a big lie, but Obama promises he won’t even try.
So, here we are folks. Obama/Biden are going to push us to socialism, raise taxes, leave us unprotected and leave the borders wide open.
McCain...no one is real sure, but we’re sure of the dems.
So, what ya gonna do? It’s TOO late to even consider the 3rd party alternatives unless you’ve got a billion dollars to try to get them exposure.
Palin is a winner and too good to be tossed for 3rd party idealism.
And to be clear, YES, we need a recognized 3rd party. Gov. Palin wasn’t afraid of that.
Damn, that post hit all the points that bother me about McCain, and you hammered it home perfectly.
