Election '08: Democratic vice presidential candidate Joe Biden says that, if elected, an Obama administration might pursue criminal charges against the Bush White House. This is how he plans to unite the country?
"We will not be stopped from pursuing any criminal offense that's occurred," Biden said Monday at a Florida campaign stop. "If there has been a basis upon which you can pursue someone for a criminal violation, they will be pursued — not out of vengeance, not out of retribution, (but) out of the need to preserve the notion that no one, no attorney general, no president — no one is above the law."
This follows Obama's pledge last spring, before adopting his attack-dog running mate, that "If crimes have been committed, they should be investigated."

Who’s going to investigate Obama? Who’s going to delve into his background with known urban terrorists like Ayers and Dohrn? Huh??????
George W. Bush has been focused on his sacred CinC duty thrust upon him this past seven years and there is no place for scorched earth ideology when you are asking the sons and daughters of Democrats, Republicans and Independents to follow your orders into harm’s way.
It’s that simple.
Bush had an opportunity to decimate the democrat party. The Clintons had them dripping with so much scandal, all it would have taken was courage. But the Bush family would never have been ambitious if they expected to fight the way Sarah Palin is. They knew how ugly it could get.
It’s all becoming more clear to me now. I had assumed the Bush family to be tough like the Palins. Now I realize that they never were quite that willing to suffer personal attacks. I can understand that better now. The good news is that the leftists are alienating themselves from the Palins. And it might not stop with Sarah. Her kids might be the next Bush Dynasty— on steroids.
Yep. I’d like to point out a historical precedent from Roman times. Turns out one of the major reason Caesar crossed the Rubicon and started the civil war was that he was afraid of being prosecuted after the end of his consulship. Given the choice between being a military dictator and being dead, he chose being a dictator. Let’s not put our politicians in the same position. A succeeding administration may not like what the previous one did while in office, but short of murder or treason we ought to leave well enough alone.
We don’t need hereditary office holders. E.g. the Kennedys or the Clintons or the Bushes for that matter.
I think many of the Democrats dream and plan another October Revolution.
A big show trial consumes Washington D.C. while the economy tanks.
The Republican party is demonized and censured.
The economy gets worse.
The goverment nationalizes everything.
The economy gets even worse.
Republicans are held responsible in kangaroo courts all across the country.
And so on.
Good historic observation. I’m seeing another historic trend — these anarchist rioters are reminiscent of Marius and Sullah [sic?]. Sullah was chased by a mob into Marius’ house one time. Desperate to keep power, Sullah tricked the Roman military into killing messengers and taking over Rome through a coup.
Imagine if those anarchists had caught and killed Sean Hannity? Would conservatives have taken it sitting down? At the same time, who is funding the rent-a-mob. I suspect it might be Putin. The KGB arranged for protests back in the 60s. In fact, I would not be surprised if Putin other meddling in the US.

There was nothing wrong with the economy when the Republicans had the majority in the House and the Senate. So the blame for a bad economy goes directly to the democRats and only to them
I don’t think John Quincy Adams was terribly bad for America. Nor do I think President GW Bush is bad [other than his slander of the Minutemen].
Don’t be surprised that when Obama loses there is rioting in our large cities. Our job is to 1) make sure that it’s not close so they are clearly sore losers only and 2) work the Senatorial and House races. Frankly, we need to turn things around and take one or both of the chambers of the legislature if we expect to get anything done. I’m talking Contract with America part deux (i.e. part 2 for the non-French speaking population).
Got to admit I’m not that fond of his dad - alien and sedition acts set my teeth on edge.
Or the Misty satellite system will scramble Obama’s brains and turn him into a pod person? Oh, I shouldn’t have leaked that one out, huh?

I think Hannity is working on a new contract with America himself. Oh and BTW, Levin let Hannity’s audience know that Hannity was behind the scenes pushing hard for Palin. Is it just a coincidence that the rent-a-mob was after him? And Obama seems to pay particular attention to Hannity.

The heck of it is that there are thugs out there who don’t even need ques. They’re almost like sleeper cells, only more slippery [though less destructive].

President Bush miscalculated Texas democrats with DC Dems. This is not about the war - his policies of unchecked spending and govt growth, forcing a policy of mintority home ownership onto banks, open border, and almost a liberal SCOTUS has not what I would call moderate. Conservatism wins every time it is tried, Palin is the perfect example. Trying to play nice with liberals taken as weakness - and is not unlike any other despot dictator waiting to attack again.
I will agree that that it is old news - we must unite now for McCain/Palin in the hopes that conservatism can rule the day once again.
That pattern you lay out seems familiar. Kind of like health care and ‘Big Oil’.

Hussein and co. aspire to be a third world “junta.” In the countries they seek to emulate it is SOP for those in power to try to stay in power in part because it is SOP for their successors, especially more-or-less democratically elected successors to put the former regime on trial and hang them or put them in prison.
