Guest Dr. Phil on Wednesday night chastised David Letterman's misunderstanding of teenage sexual behavior and parental influence after Letterman sarcastically complained that if a President McCain drops dead...don't you want your President to have had the presence of mind to have chatted to her teenaged kids for five minutes about birth control? (Letterman delivered the same belittling joke the night before too.)
Referring to Letterman's almost five-year-old son, daytime TV host Phil McGraw, aka Dr. Phil, informed Letterman:
Let me tell you something, new dad. If you are under the misapprehension that when Harry is 17 that you are going to have even a remote influence on what he decides in the back seat of a Chevy on a Saturday night -- I don't think old Dave's going to be popping in his mind at that point. It's not a 15-minute conversation. It's a dialogue that you need to have starting when he's about eight or nine.

Dave really has gone off the deep end. I haven't been able to watch his show for quite some time. I really used to think he was funny when I was younger, but I cannot stand his partisan crap now.

Dave has reverted to form...that’s all.
He’s famous, therefore, he’s smart.
Putz.

Who cares what Letterman thinks. I never watch the idiot. I don’t waste my time with any liberal talking head.

I’m ashamed Letterman is from Indiana.

Bitter is as bitter does.

I have lived a Letterman free life since November 2000. My life is better for it.

Letterman stopped being funny around 1987. That, oddly enough, was the same year Leno was announced as Carson's "permanent guest host" for The Tonight Show. When Obama speaks of bitter people clinging to something, he is talking about people like Dave.

Dave gets his material (I won’t call them “jokes”) from obama by way of the DNC propaganda arm, CBS news.
It is fun to see the media figures like Dr. Phil and Letterman turn on each other over Palin.

I absolutely cannot stand that man’s show. When the Olympics were on, we switched over one night (we are big Leno fans) - I disgusted. He is snide, rude, condescending and incredibly ignorant. Plus, the show is just boring.

I never really liked Lettermen but over the past 3-4 years he really had become an unhinged and bitter old man! It’s really not attractive at all! I hope cbs would consider picking Leno up as a replacement for him!
