The Sarah Effect.

.

.

Here’s how I’ve been bumping Palin/Obama threads.

Sung to the tune of “Oh! Susanna, don’t you cry for me.”

“Oh, no Bama, please don’t lie to me... for I’m off to Free Republic with a laptop on my knee.”

I come from Minnesota with my laptop on my knee;
I’m goin’ to Free Republic my true love for to see.
It rained all night the day I left,
the weather it was dry;
The sun so hot I froze to death,
Obama don’t you lie.

Oh! No Bama, don’t you lie to me;
I come from Minnesota,
with my laptop on my knee.

I had a dream the other night,
When everything was still;
I thought I saw Obama dear,
A-coming for The Hill.
The smearing lie was in Duluth,
The tear was in his eye,
Said I, I’m coming for the truth
Obama don’t you lie.

Oh! No Bama, don’t you lie to me;
I’m off to Free Republic,
with my laptop on my knee.

I fight in my pajamas,
It’s plain for all to see.
I aim to be the next Buckhead;
The media all hate me.
I fell in love with Sarah
When my sister bit a moose.
The Guvnor’s family ate it up
And then they set it loose.

Oh! No Bama, don’t you lie to me;
I’m off to Free Republic,
with my laptop on my knee.

She loves her sons, she likes her guns,
and Trigonometry.
The media will jump the shark
When Juan makes history.
Well, JimRob knows she’ll pave the trolls
So controversially,
And Berg will knock Obama down
With friends of Hillary.

Oh! No Bama, don’t you lie to me;
I’m off to Free Republic with a laptop on my knee.

I soon will be in Hawaii,
And then I’ll look all ‘round,
And when I find his birth record,
I’ll fall upon the ground.
But if I do not find it,
This Freeper’ll surely die,
And when I’m dead and buried,
Obama don’t you lie.

Oh! No Bama, don’t you cry for me;
I’m off to Free Republic with a laptop on my knee

Geez, that “live thread” doesn’t even show up on right side panel on my browser and I have all the normal things enabled from breaking news to editorials...

What is it under???

What is it under???

I had to search for it last night, and only found it by accident.

And it still got more than 125,000 views.

Imagine if it had been in "Breaking News".

Those numbers could have been double, except for the sluggishness during big live events.

Even on highspeed cable, it takes too much time to post and read because FR just can’t handle the traffic.

I am surprised that it didn’t crash, however. It did during 2 big Hillary Clinton speeches.

I knew the site was under heavy use because everything was super slow but there were no new posts showing up during the speech. I thought it was really odd at the time. Now I know why...

Still odd. I’ve not seen that happen before here.

“Those numbers could have been double, except for the sluggishness during big live events.”

Good point, especially wimpy landlines like mine.

I’m not complaining. It would probably cost a fortune to have this forum geared up that much for big moments [I would guess.]

I felt lucky to find C-Span radio. [Videos are too much.] And I couldn’t navigate by the middle of Rudy’s hot speech. I just left the pc so someone else could play solitaire while we listened. I feel blessed that my PC could handle that. =]

What an amazing age we live in.

We were killing the server last night. I think I was over 50 posts behind all evening. After Palin speech started I just gave up. I caught up after she was done. At one point there was 75-100 posts a minute, the servers were working overtime trying to keep up.

We watched on C-Span. Just can’t abide the pundits telling me what the speakers are saying and what they mean.

I can speak English and figure it out for myself. And I will not watch Hannity & Colmes anymore as long as Alan is on. Playing a devil’s advocate is one thing but he’s just vicious and I don’t need to watch, or listen to, all that hostility. He goes way beyond a counter point of view.

Right. The talking heads of the left are practicing techniques of Alinksi and his good friend — Lucifer. Disruption of speakers is a tactic Alinksi preached to his disciples.

There’s a ripple affect in college education. When I was a democrat, I probably used Alinski techniques without even knowing the man’s name. In fact, I still use Alinski methodology I suppose.

Tempting oneself to watch TV is generally a bad idea. Their leftist themed programs leave a person depressed, miserable, and spiritually filthy. I only watch DVDs anymore. Heck, a person can check out DVDs at the library for free. And some are sold for a dollar.

I wish C-SPAN had an HD feed. I watched CNN the first night so I could watch it in HD, but I can’t stand all the “telling me what I just heard” crap. C-SPAN has always been my choice for anything political on TV.

Just let me pretend I am there, and let me enjoy the convention.

Have tried to get JimRob for years to include a special category in FREEPATHONS for beefing up the hardware for such years as elections and other major events.

I have particularly felt that this election would require a big hefty increase in capacity.

He’s always said we don’t need it but I have always suspected he just didn’t want to burden FREEPERS with the extra expense.

I personally believe our country NEEDS FR’S UMPH AND PERSPECTIVE PARTICULARLY AT SUCH CRITICAL TIMES and that we need to have as much capacity as we can collectively afford.

I’m of no help $$$ wise on my limited part-time work and retirement meager income with my token monthly equivalent donation. But I can sure cheer on needed solutions.

What would be most needed next in beefing up hardware? 4 times the servers? 8 times? more lines in? What?

Here’s the link so you can decipher it yourself. While you’re there you can compare FR to sites like the DU and Kos etc.

I wish C-SPAN had an HD feed.

Here in the Chicago area WTTW-D (local PBS station) is broadcasting it in HD with very little commentary (TG) and no commercial interruptions. Far better even than FNC.
