Halfway through Sarah Palin's speech tonight at the RNC, people following the speech noticed she was deviating from the prepared text.
According to sources close to the McCain campaign, the teleprompter continued scrolling during applause breaks. As a result, half way through the speech, the speech had scrolled significantly from where Governor Palin was in the speech. The malfunction also occurred during Rudy Giuliani's speech, explaining his significant deviations from his speech.
Unfazed, Governor Palin continued, from memory, to deliver her speech without the teleprompter cued to the appropriate point in her speech.
Contrast this to Barack Obama who, when last his teleprompter malfunctioned, was left stuttering before a crowd unable to advance his speech until the problem was resolved.
Sarah Palin. Winner.

I hate liberals. ( Well, not really - but I sure don't believe for a second that the teleprompter situation was an accident - twice. Wonder if "US" or the New York Times will "investigate".
Impressive -- and explains some things.
Kudos to both Rudy and Sarah!
When it is raining, it is because she is sad.
If there were an interesting gland, hers would be larger than most women’s entire lower intestines.
Her shirts never wrinkle.
She is left-handed. And right-handed.
Even if she forgets to put postage on her mail, it gets there.
She once knew a call was a wrong number, even though the person on the other end wouldn’t admit it.
You can see her charisma from space.
Sarah Palin is...The Most Interesting Woman in the World
O. seems like such a poser wearing the USMC shirt!!! Every time I see him in this pic, I get upset.
Thanks for the ping. Good speakers don’t rely on teleprompters.
On Fox Bret Baier said he was eyewitness to the prompter problem. He said Sarah Palin couldn’t see the 1st two lines from the prompter or something like that.

I watched the BBC streaming the speech this morning and there were a couple of times, about half way and again two-thirds through, I could see the prompter over her shoulder and it was synched with her. There was, however, a clear point where she seemed to refer to printed pages.
I didn't get the chills I got from Dick Cheney in 2000 but I think Gov Palin did A-OK.
sarahcuda is a winner !!!
She’s real, and she’s spectacular!!!!
This woman is just incredible.
Be afraid, America haters. Be very afraid.
...caribou in the headlights look that lasted about 1/20 of a second....

Perhaps that was the time that a Code Pink harpy made it to the edge of the stage and was yelling at her.
Sarah stood before thousands, and never skipped a beat with her address.

After enduring nearly a week of full throttle attacks by the MSM on her and on her family.
It’s funny. During one shot in which she was waiting for the applause to die down and I could see the teleprompter was still scrolling. I remember thinking that there must be some sort of foot controls to slow down, stop, reverse, etc. I guess not. Maybe they’ll consider it now.
Well, not exactly "flawlessly," as I did notice her suffer from a couple of (small) problems, mostly in awkward phrasing. HOWEVER ... those problems were very minor, and she never flubbed her underlying point.
Which simply underscores the fact that she's a remarkable lady.
I mean really: first time on the national stage, with millions of folks watching, in THE biggest speech of her life, and hundreds of MSM vultures waiting to fall on any mistake ... and the Teleprompter goes on the fritz. It was a perfect opportunity for her to crater, and she did not. Very impressive.
Perhaps this is true, but if so I’m amazed that Fox News didn’t report it. I’m highly inclined to trust Sarah’s ability to perform this feat, but I didn’t notice her even so much as glancing at a written note.
