or whether they should be in office at all because of their family.

This is the specific question I alluded to earlier. I agree it comes up way more for female candidates than their male counterparts. I disagree that families of men are not attacked, and often.

I still don't view this as a sexist problem. I view it as a major character problem of greedy, dishonest sleazeballs who want power and more power.

Cute couple ... nice of McCain, too

Welcome to the family Levi Johnston and get ready for your closeup. ..... I WON'T POST THEIR TITLE

With a phalanx of video cameras rolling, John McCain warmly greeted the 18-year-old Alaskan hockey stud early this afternoon along with the rest of vice president pick Sarah Palin's family on the tarmac of the Minneapolis airport.

Johnston's high school romance with Palin's daughter, Bristol, 17, proved a major distraction to the McCain campaign when word leaked that the young woman was pregnant.

But McCain greeted Johnston, clean-shaven and dressed in slacks and a gray pull-over, warmly. He slapped his shoulder, shook his head, and whispered something into his ear.

McCain also took the hands of a pregnant Bristol as he invidividualy greeted the rest of the family who arrived last night from Alaska.

Also on hand to greet McCain, who just arrived from the campaign trail in Ohio, was his wife Cindy.

The two families then boarded a campaign bus to head into town as one happy political family.

I have been a lurker freeper for the past couple of years -— I got myself so worked up during the Bush Re-election that I had to take a break for a while...seriously! But folks, the excitement around Sarah Palin has really been waking the freeper in me up. Then seeing this US Weekly cover has pushed me over the edge -— I had to go hunting around to find my login and password. GOPWHIT reporting for duty! I called US Weekly, I emailed a large group of friends with all the info, and I also sent them this email:

Dear US Weekly —

Your cover this week is beyond dispicable. In all the years I have purchased your magazine I have never seen any content with more blatent political bias. And the image of a woman holding her downs symdrome child being used to attack her is disgusting and cruel. Hey great job guys -— here are the benefits this cover brings you:

1. I will NEVER purchase US Weekly magazine again.
2. I will write and call every single advertiser in this issue.
3. I will donate $500 to McCain/Palin today.

Keep up the good work.

Great job Freepers!!! Happy to be part of this wonderful group!

Thanks for the photos (he’s a cutie)
And for not posting “Baby Daddy”. How childish that term is!

You know, with Sarah Palin as our new role-model, my guess is that many conservative women(that don’t already hunt), will be discovering the joys of hunting this deer season.

Just a word of caution to the enviromentalists, sierra club, and the rest of those that might want to take a walk in the woods......

WATCH OUT...CAUSE THERE ARE GOING TO BE BULLETS FLYING ALL OVER THE PLACE........LOL

I know the cow that my burger came from didn’t go willingly and God bless the people- male and female- who do hunt and fish and all that stuff, but I just can’t. I’m not against it at all, it’s just not for me.

I do enjoy shooting though. I haven’t been at a range forever, but it’s fun. I have really good aim, which is surprising to those who have seen me throw.

Most women to have a natural aim which is good. Not sure why...but it’s true.

I just had this vision of conservative women going out into the woods in mass this fall to hunt and the bullets flying all over the place...LOL

My dad taught me to shoot when I was very young, although he wasn’t much of a hunter himself. We use to target shoot. I went bow hunting years ago for turkey, but that’s about it.

Wouldn’t mind going to the range myself real soon.

Sarah Palin is an inspiration on so many levels. Can’t wait until her speech tonight!

Great idea, gopwhit.

Snowflakes, can you even imagine how incensed Tony Snow would have been with this assault on Bristol? To attack any teenager in this manner who finds herself pregnant is beyound belief, regardless of who her mother might be. Words fail me! They will not let up until she murders her child!

We need to blanket the Palin family with our prayers and support. I don’t for one minute believe that this vendetta is going to convince Sara Palin to step down. Obviously these despicable creatures have never heard the warning, Never get between a mother and her cubs!

Please gather the Snowflakes!

I do love to do nature hikes and be outdoors. But all the shooting I do is with my camera. ;-)

I watched that, and oh, my! What a gorgeous family.

The only problem is, they’re going to have to add a large wing to Number One Observatory Circle (the Veep’s mansion) to accommodate this large, energetic, and beautiful family.

My response to the advertisers - all rights released for direct copy and/or editing - just wanted to pass it along:

My wife and I have noted that you advertise in "US Weekly" magazine. Based on the editorial content in "US Weekly", particularly the recent story of half-truths and outright deceit concerning Sarah Palin, our family will not support advertisers that support "US Weekly". To that end, my wife and I are making lists of products manufactured by those manufacturers that advertise in "US Weekly" and our family will not be supporting those manufacturers. We are sorry that your fine products will no longer be available to us in the future, and I'm sure that the support of my family and friends will only be a drop in the bucket of your massive sales, but we must take a stand when others do not. We watch carefully for your response to this outrage, and if you choose to do the right thing, and denounce this ill-informed and indecent attack on an American family, we will be glad to welcome your products into our home again in the future.

Thank you for listening.

Monegan refused to fire a guy who tasered a 10 year-old boy with his state-issued weapon and who also threatened the life of another adult.

I think the case can be made that the supervisor clearly was not doing their job.

I don’t mind this cover. The Enquirer goes after everyone; they broke the John Edwards affair.

More importantly, they didn’t put an innocent child who can’t defend itself on the cover like that the gutter rag US did.

I posted to someone else on this, but I agree with you.

For me, and more importantly for my wife, US putting the defenseless baby on the cover was wrong on so many levels.

This little comparison contrast works to our benefit as few other things have. It’s simple. It’s brief. It’s a picture.

Every four years, the Democrats and media have a love fest at their convention and laud the “brilliant” choice of whatever hack is named as their vice presidential nominee. This doesn’t change.

Then they adjourn to our convention, and carp, nitpick, criticize, and scandalize all our procedings, presenting everything that happens in the worst possible light, topping it off by trashing whoever is selected as vp nominee.

Compare the media treatment of Quayle, Cheney, and Palin to Bentsen, Gore, Lieberman, Edwards, and Biden. This isn’t hard, but liberals are deranged people. This little contrast shows the bias very directly.
